Dit is een uitvoering met piano en zang van Opwekking 654, geschreven door Marcel Zimmer. Ik speel op basis van de officiële bladmuziek.

Here is another pair of videos of an Opwekking song! I enjoyed doing Opwekking 462, and was certainly open to creating another one. In fact, around the end of summer I tried doing another, but in about half an hour I couldn't manage to record a piano take I was satisfied with.
Yesterday I got the idea to record Opwekking 654, and it went pretty smoothly. :) I'd already practised this song a lot last year, when I performed it with my family to celebrate my grandfather's 80th birthday anniversary. Back then I didn't play with the sustain pedal yet, though, so I did have to practise that a bit.
For the vocals, I knew ahead of time that I was going to combine several takes, and the entire process actually went quite smoothly. For the vocal processing, I do feel like my audio setup isn't good enough to get it to a really high level. For example, when applying compression, I don't actually hear a difference when tweaking different settings, probably due to using earbuds. I do think the effort I put in pays off, though!
Like Opwekking 462, this song was written by Marcel Zimmer. This is a coincidence in one way, but no coincidence in another. I am a big fan of Marcel Zimmer's music, so I wouldn't be surprised if the next performance features one of his songs too. But I am also completely open to doing other people's songs, including translations of songs from other countries!
For the video and thumbnail, I used one of my desktop wallpapers again, this time one that features John 15:9. I was considering using the one that features Nehemiah 8:11, as that is one of the verses that this song was inspired by. However, I didn't like the colour scheme well enough to use for a YouTube video. I hope that the one I ended up picking is easily readable for everyone, and pleasant to look at; it's a bit more out there than the one I used before, but I hope that's not a problem for anyone. :)
