Welcome to part 1 of the Complete guide for lip-syncing in OpenToonz. In this we cover the drawing of the mouth shapes, setting up your character for lip-syncing, and offer a general introduction to the drawing tools in OT.

In part 2 we demonstrate our converter tool which has been integrated into OpenToonz as of version 1.2. Here we will show you how to join your mouth shapes to lip-sync patterns created with Papagayo.

For instance, using the Papagayo tool (speech/text/mouth synch) is not just about loading a file, there are number of obscure steps which you visually explain, and other teachers don't, expecting the novice to know. Please keep up the good work. YOUR TUTORIAL SERIES HAVE THE POWER TO BOOST OPENTOONZ USEABILITY AND POPULARITY TO MAKE IT GO VIRAL. I was worried how to pay Adobe $73 a month forever (plus future increase, as it was increased from my student start at $29 p.m.). At first OPENTOONZ scared me at having to give up Adobe After Effects to take on a new learning curve. BUT not now, after seeing your tutorials.     Thanks Mate for the help, I really appreciated your way of teaching in a detail way. At first I had difficulty. But after playing around and experimenting I figured out why you did some stuff in the video and helped me to finish. It took me the whole day (4 11 hours) to finish your video.

    Wow, I'm so glad I saw these videos. I was just starting to learn Synfig Studios, but it crashes often so I decided to look for an alternative (can't afford Adobe stuff). Opentoonz seems just like Adobe Flash/Adobe Animate, but with cool characters giving tutorials, lol. PS. That Donald Trump is Learning to Lie!! video should have 10 million views, you should post it in a few sub-reddits. Thanks for making these tutorials.
