I have been waiting patiently for another game like Pokémon Trading Card Game for the Gameboy and Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket is not that at all.

Not much has been revealed about Pokémon Trading Card Game Pocket but I don't think it's what I'm looking for in terms of virtually interacting with the Pokémon Trading Card game.

Come join us for a discussion on how Pokémon cards can best be translated to the screen!

2 packs a day would be a ton in real life. Who has the money to buy 600 packs a year.

I wish more people knew how to play the Pokémon card game, and I wish more people had cards irl. Sometimes I like going on twitch or kick and looking for people to play trading card game live with. Also all the decks in the higher ranks you find are the same, one out of three decks usually, decks that work nearly every single time, and it is annoying, because the idea of building your own deck is really out the window when any deck you could hope to build can't compete with the one's others use. Also in tcg live you can just get the card packs for your deck by using the purple gem things you get from completing daily tasks and the cards you want by selling extra cards to get those rainbow token things.

If we can open more packs through codes on physical packs like you can in the regular TCG online game then that would be solid, but if it’s micro transaction only that’s going to suck a bit.

The icons on the time bar makes me think it's going to be 3 prize matches.

Agree completely with your simulator conclusion, TCG Live provides absolutely nothing of value outside of being an official simulator. The code cards don't even match the cards to your real life collection, and there is no use for the non-meta cards on the app. If TCG Pocket can capture the addictiveness/progression of Pokemon GO's battle system, I believe it has far more upside than the gameboy game and I love that game.

I seriously do crave a new Pokemon TCG Adventure as described here. I want to build a collection over time, but without microtransactions and having to play the game every day for 2 years straight.

TCGL lets you pick which cards you want individually and use f2p resources to make them. You don't need to pay for meta decks. I made several decks just this month and I haven't spent a dime. I even made the full arts for 1 of them XD
  • @DongKEKong
NAH. You are totally wrong about TCG live. The game literally GIFT you meta decks every 3 months.
  • 3:30 Up at the top and bottoms of the screen's I believe we can see the "prize points" Mentioned on the ex cards with a max of 3 similar to the "My First Battle" boxes where prize points come from. While this on it's own isn't necessarily a problem, with Pokemon ex's still being present there will need to be an extremely tight leash on them to avoid the games going too fast, I believe the +20 weakness's might be a preventative measure for that already, but it puts a pretty hard limit on how strong two prize pokemon become.

Honestly making A Pokémon card simulatior takes the fun out of TCG. I would love A story base TCG game as well but also having Pocket on the side.

I mean to be fair at least with pocket you get two packs a day for free. With live you can only get them with crystals , which are done through the battle pass as rewards for unlocked tiers, or through daily missions. The only other way to get packs is through said rewards, either through ranked, level up (I think?), or again battle bass for free. Otherwise you have to get code cards through either friends who don't play Live, but buy physical packs, buy the code cards online, or get lucky through giveaways. The only other way to get cards is through credits, which again are gained through reward, or by getting more than 4 of the same exact card (not counting holos, different art, etc). It's not exactly a cheap way to play, so even though these cards are very different from their counterparts, at least you get two free packs a day to build on. You will probably get a starter deck too, I'd be really shocked if you didn't.

The gbc game was good because it was snappy. I tried the online one and tcg ‘live’ and theyre just so slow. Also, new cards have a lot more effects that clutter gamplay. Lots of minor effects to parse through every turn with some opponent decks i tend to see.
  • @StaraptorEagle
I can’t afford TCG, so getting two packs for free is great. You may also consider not everyone can go out and buy cards for whatever reason too. Maybe I’m just being too hopeful…
  • @ayatokzorro
They just need to do the duel links treatment
  • @Stiffeno
I just bought the original for my IPS screen modded GBC the other day, addictive game!
  • @gododoof
Yes, more story based tcg rpgs please.
  • @Cylis710
Honestly I’m enjoying it on tablet cards look beautiful
  • I loved the older online TCG game because they had so many different tournaments, one of which was based solely on the starter decks that you could buy with in game currency. I played that all the time. It didn’t matter what cards you got or how much money you spent or if you had any deck building knowledge to begin with. The decks were all prebuilt and on similar levels, all that mattered was your own strategy. I played it constantly, building up tournament points to collect cards just because. It was awesome! I’m a lot better at in the moment strategy then I am at planning a strategy before hand, so it was really the only way I could play. They removed that in TCG live from what I can tell, and once I moved my cards to Live, I couldn’t go back to the original. I dropped it immediately. It no longer offers me anything. I’m bummed about it honestly.
