I think sometimes God symbolically strikes us on our hip just to slow us down. Those days when you feel utterly exhausted and are running on 5% battery; you become frustrated because you think that you won't meet those deadlines, or you'll get left behind. For me, that's when God is telling you to slow down and be still, there is something He is trying to tell you. There's something he is trying to show you. ☺💯
  • I loved this. I’ve been carrying heavy burdens with my family. Alongside working a lot and school. I burned out. Recently what I felt after reading a devotional was “I don’t need you strong, I need you surrendered.” That gave me strength not my own to keep going. Because I for sure don’t have it some days. ‘Be still and know I am God’ This message reminded me of that. Thank you.
  • Our hurried life style also takes its tole on our relationships with people. I kept God a priority, my job next, but my family came came in third. I didn’t realize my mistake until I retired. Now I’m trying to make up for all the lost time. But the distance and hard feelings are hard to get past. I knew it was about balance, but I just couldn’t do it all.
  • Love listening to you. Currently reading your book "Praying like Monks. ." It is soooo powerful.

Thank you I’ve allowed my mind to fall into this “hurry” mode Thank you for bringing it before me and to step back and learn to sit in stillness before God and shut the noise of this world down 🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🕊️

Such a beautiful sermon! But what is interruptible look like?
  • Satan gathered his demons around with a devious new mandate. "My minions, if you can't make the Christians sin... make them busy."
  • Psalm 46 has nothing to do with prayer or with being physically still. It is about remembering that God is in charge and to trust him. It is more a rebuke and admonishment than anything. God can get your attention no matter what you are doing. He certainly was not thwarted by Jonah running away or by Paul stoning Christians.
