Great video. It's nice to watch a video and actually learn how to make a repair. Way to be clear on the repair and what was needed to make it.

Excellent job! Not the Lemans mod but still excellent work. 👍

When these were manufactured, the green flaky substance WAS the rubberized coating meant to insulate and protect the exposed electrics. With age the coating deteriorates and flakes off, exposing electrics to the elements. BTW Ferraris contemporary to this X1/9, like the 308, used nearly identical headlight motors. Trivia: the green label with "N.A." means that this is a part that meets specific requirements for the North American market. The label is also seen on other things like the front and rear marker and tail light housings.

Nice work! The diodes have no effect on the motor speeds, they are two independent machines and it really is down to age, build, friction and the like as to their speed. Yours are pretty close in speed, so all good.

Hey garage time tv, I have a 79 x1/9 project car that’s I pulled the motor apart on replaced the head gasket and everything above it, got it all together then I started to add coolant, it was taking coolant bleed the rad but then it got to the motor coolant was entering the cylinder closest to the thermostat housing, it was also literally pouring out of the exhaust manifold, took it all back apart, headgasket Is fine and the block it’s holding coolant, do you think it’s a head issue? Looked everywhere for cracks but can’t find anything, also cylinder number 2 2nd one away from the thermostat housing has 30psi of compression all the rest have 100, any info on anything to check or look up would help a lot, it’s my first project at 18.
