What did you guys think!? Which Pokemon would you like to see get fixed? Leave your suggestion below!
  • @hacim42
I think hitmontop's spin would be good as a entering animation, and the side steps as idle.
  • @MugenCannon97
"And we're back, with some more fixed animations in Pokemon Sword and Shield!" Shows a giant Tyranitar that is Fortnite dancing as it walks
  • @mando2514
Holy crap! You just made me like Maractus and Politoed! I honestly never realized how much the movements of Pokemon actually contribute to their likeability.
  • @TheCottonCandie
A lot of people are saying the same thing and I have to agree: the animations loop too quickly. This is really evident for me in the Starmie in the beginning, where the sudden jerking and spinning doesn’t look too clean to me. A good way to do it is to maybe try and find a beat to them. So like, 1...2...3...[now]...1..., and so on. The animations might look better with breathing room is all

You said it best. "Politoed as a CHARACTER." Gamefreak treats their mons as objects instead of characters. Therefore they feel that they don't need to give them a personality.
  • @esbendayo
i'd prefer hitmontop to only spin on its head when it: -emerges from pokéball/appears in the wild -occcationally should make a variation in the idle animation -initiates certain attacks big fan of it's current idle animation where it stands on its feet and does the capoeira movements
  • @sorucoder1657
"You made Wingull look dumb." And I suppose the third and fourth generation back sprites for Wingull don't exist either.
  • @Shynotic
I didn’t realize just how lifeless some of these Pokémon were in recent games. This can bring whole new perspective to how a Pokémon is perceived.
  • The problem I feel with these animations is that they're constant. Maybe it's just been made to loop immediately for the sake of demonstation, and if it is disregard this, but the ones like Politoed and Maractus need pauses in between these animations. It just looks unnatural otherwise. The same could kind of be applied to Hitmontop. The constant spinning just looks strange, in my opinion, but spinning intersped with breaks (either on their feet or head, maybe even dizzily) would look much better.

Pokemon Gen 5 games had the most personality in their sprite animations.
  • @microwave8931
Critiscm: Hitmontop looks too weird constantly on his head. I think he should spin for a while, then get down to take a break
  • @ColdNorth0628
I think hitmontop should do both. With the capo style stance being the main one where he then transitions to the spinning on his spike. Then after a bit he jumps out of it and returns to his standard capo animation.
  • Sudowoodo, is pronounced pseudo woo do. As in, its pseudo wood, “fake wood”.
  • @ElFlores1984
Starmie: spins back DistantKingdom: The emotion that it makes, its outstanding!
  • so my problem with most of these animations is that they seem to be too fast- or to put it better, it loops too fast they don't stop moving, and they don't feel like actual pokemon animations I'm editing this again to say: yes, these look better than what game freak offers, I just want to see them looped properly so I can see the true potential of that animation
  • @marcuscuscus
It’s so upsetting seeing just how charming these models can be, yet they all just stay still or sway gradually. Most if not all of them look pretty much dead
