stop saying helldivers is dead. major order are being completed at record pace, updates are coming out, the reddit is brewing every day. the community is strong. the only reason the game isnt in its prime is because during the summer people like to, yknow, GO OUTSIDE??
  • @xbighoganx
People don't know what a "dead game" is anymore, there's even a single player game in this video about "dead games"

Calling HD2 "dead" When It's averaging between 20-40k any given day of the week is factually incorrect. Is that down from it's all time height of half a million? Sure. Point to a non MMO or extraction shooter that holds those numbers months on end.

You should check out finals for season 3. THey actually started doing updates every two weeks. It only takes roughly a minute to find most QP games even at 3am. Yeah, still nothing as large as the inital base but also I don't think I've seen a single cheater so far.
  • Starfield was one of the final nails in the coffin when it came to me preordering games. Utterly broken by design because it was built on an engine that is a complete shambles.. yes i completed it after several restarts and an uncountable number of crashes... avoid af all costs a month of my life I'll never get back.

Putting a game with 30k 24 hour peak of players (roughly 7% of the all time peak) on steam that also has roughly the same numbers on PSN in a video about dead games when it's just a game that doesn't force you to play every singe day is kinda silly to me.The game isn't dying, it's stabilizing. Elden Ring, another game which doesn't force you to play daily to not miss content or gear, started at over 950k players and after about 4 months had only 80k players which dropped down to about 40k until the DLC release. Helldivers 2 has 60k on steam alone when they release new content and because there are no fomo tactics employed people can just take their time with it hence why it doesn't have the constant numbers like Overwatch or Apex legends, both of which employ tactics to specifically not get the 3 month 60-80 percent drop-off. I really wish people would look into these things a lot more before calling a game dead because by that metric, Elden Ring is currently a dying game. Games that don't employ scummy tactics just means people will play them at their own pace. Now about the game, really isn't a major grind to get the good weapons, you can finish any warbond (except the big one) in casual gameplay. Like yeah sure, I do have 500 hours in the game but also a good chunk of that is testing weapons, loadouts and just having fun solo without trying to get specific resources. Like the game is built to allow you to make progress at your own pace. You only need about 300-400 medals to get every item in a warbond that is directly relevant to gameplay like weapons and boosters. You will passively collect medals during down time between their releases and now with the increased time window, you'll also more easily collect the super credits needed and also get the medals for cosmetics. The only way the game isn't that casual friendly is honestly just because the game is tactical. It's meant to make you think strategically and work together to succeed and people are just viewing it like it's some kind of mindless horde shooter which gets them killed.

“Splitgate is dead, I hope they do better with their next game” The Splitgate twitter the next day:

Just because a dev team takes a break from releasing back to back to back updates doesn't mean the game is dead. It's also summer, the time for vacations. 30k 24 hour peak and 22k players playing right now, that doesn't sound like a dead game, not taking into consideration crossplay. There's also leaked and very public videos on upcoming weapons, stratagems and enemies. A dead game doesn't have over 20,000 people playing it on a weekday. It's like if a constant stream of new content and updates aren't streamed into people's heads every waking moment a game is considered obsolete.
  • it isn't just the same thing over and over again. Some missions can be smooth and you have minimal casualties and others its total hell . a lot of the fun comes from the combat system because of how satisfying it Is and helldivers 2 isn't losing players anymore. :)

Well...I bought starfield. And I did beat the main story, as well as a few of the major side quests. And honestly, I think it didn't do well for a large quantity of reasons. I think the leveling system forcing you to complete arbitrary tasks unrelated to the skill you wanted to upgrade hurt alot. As well as the lockpicking system functioning more like fallout rather than skyrims. I think much of the game is too easy, even on it's hardest dificulty. And the space combat, which is the games hardest trial, can be bypassed simply by fast traveling. But the worst part of all, is that the game has exactly 13 radiant locations that can show up on planets, this not including quest specific ones of which there were about 30 or so. (Don't quote me on that metric). But 13 tiny areas, the size of a room or 2 in most other games, is depressing and leaves alot to be desired. There's alot more, and this is coming from someone who kind of likes the game. I wish I knew how to mod to just fix most of the issues that seems so simple and probably are
  • @water754
'its a very long grind to get the good weapons' you can get every stratagem in about 25 hours and you can buy the good ones first. the warbonds take less then 3 hours. how is that hard?
  • @Vedrlaufnir
OK no, Helldivers 2 is not dead (yet), it's more like it's actually getting to its natural and intended numbers after a massive strike of hype and "trend players" joining. The way the game is built is reminiscent of the first Helldivers, and that game was made to be played in short sessions and carry on with your life, not to be there stuck for hours grinding and farming like all those live service games do. In fact, Helldivers 2 is so casual, you don't even need to participate on the campaigns to get rewarded (I've logged in after a month of inactivity and got a lot of medals rewarded, but since I don't have a warbond to use them they will just rot there for a while). The main issue with the game is that it's a bloody mess right now, a lot of weapons feel useless, there's bugs (as in, errors and annoyances in the game) that hinder the experience (for example, I've had myself blown away from the center of the map to a very far point outside it, being labeled a traitor and with no way to get back my gear because o this), and balancing issues that the developer is currently addressing. So as I said, the game is not dead yet, but if they don't fix these issues, it will definitely die.

Keep up the good content bro 🔥

When helldivers 2 was available on xbox in the first place? Like I had to buy a gaming pc just to play it, you're getting hate but it's justified for the incoherence of that, major orders are being completed like one every 4 days, we are literally erasing the automatons from their planets. In the past 5 days I saw a peak of 50k+ players at once. And also you know it's summer time and people on their summer time do this strange thing called "going on vacantion". I know is strange but it's a real thing
  • I think you're right about Helldivers II. Another thing, though, is the dishonest and misleading conduct of Sony. Those actions drove away a lot of players, and many have not come back, despite Sony's efforts.
  • @ender_z4nd3r83
I guess this is sarcasm because at least half the games have decent playerbases
