Seems like more than one of us fell down the Jeff Daniels Rabbit Hole after seeing him on Kelly’s show. So good.

The story is about an American boy getting ready to go to war, going to the base in Clarksville before being sent overseas. It is an important song. Thanks, Jeff.

As a life long guitar player at the age of 75 I love Jeff Daniel’s playing. So great to have found him.

I saw Jeff Daniels on the Kelly Clarkson show. He really surprised me which is an understatement. As he did Kelly Clarkson. I would never have believed it if I didn't see it myself.

It was years later after "The Monkees" first performed this that I learned it was about a young man heading off to Vietnam. The 60s were the best of times except for riots and the Vietnam War (police action)!! Jeff Daniels is one of my favorite people!!

I first saw Jeff Daniels play Tom T. Hall's " That's How I Got To Memphis" on The Newsroom. I said "DAMN!!!"

I love when actors show us all that they can play and sing too. Some good Jeff Daniels movies.. ‘Fly away home’ , ‘RV’, and who can forget ‘Dumb and Dumber.’

The Beatles had just changed the creative landscape with their "Revolver" album; and in that avalanche of creativity this remarkably touching song was released upon the world. Note the urgency of the lyrics? As the protagonist urges his love to meet him one last time before he leaves for battle in SE Asia.

Nice job Jeff basically said something to effect of - " here is one that you will recognize- eventually" before they started playing the song. Funny thing is depending how old the audience was- if they were younger (at all-lol) they probably did not recognize the song. Me, on the other hand Im an old dude who watched the Monkees show when I was a kid. I also became acquaintances with Louis Shelton, who played the opening guitar riff on the Monkees record. Louis was a guitarist that was also a member of the wrecking crew.

Two weeks ago I saw my first video of Mr. Daniel's sing with a news caster.(can't remember which one)He sang an original song and I was floored, I haven't seen him since he was driving a dog!😂This is blowing me away, he's really awesome.
