Beyond Surveillance Apathy: Considering the Importance of Privacy when Using AI & Other Classroom Technologies by Gavin Johnson & Charles Woods
While many may feel a sense of apathy about “inevitable” digital surveillance, this session will introduce participants to important considerations about data surveillance and privacy in classroom technologies, including emerging AI and LLMs. Participants will not only learn current conversations about the impact of privacy and surveillance, but also work on developing “privacy literacies” for themselves and students through simple assignments appropriate for a range of courses.
