Paul Maurice is coming up on 2k games coached in the next couple years, and he finally got his cup. You could just see all those years of tension and pain leave when he finally got his hands on lord Stanley. What a moment.

As a canucks fan, I'm absolutely stoked rn. Lu deserves this.

Just happy for Okposo. Seems like a great guy who probably went on his last/ near last run.
  • I was just learning how to playas a little kid when the Panthers had their inaugural season and I watched the 96 run with my dad every night and it was one of my most cherished memories as a fan. Watching the team become a basement dweller for nearly two decades was rough. Guys like Bure, Luongo, Horton, Jokinen, Weiss would rot alongside either a bunch of washed up vets or a bunch of guys that would not crack an NHL roster elsewhere. I stuck with them when they showed promise in 2016 with a young core, only to have it all fall apart a year later. I stuck with them during the 2017 expansion draft debacle, which would set our team back even further and the two players we sent would be instrumental and beating us in the finals last year. This cup win has been absolutely surreal as a fan. I’m still trying to take it in. Had you told any Panthers fan a decade ago that they’d finally hoist Lord Stanley, we’d have looked at you like you were crazy. Not this team. They can’t even fill their building. They were practically giving away tickets. Now, we have a legit contender. Here’s to many more years of sustained success for this franchise.
  • As a Vancouver fan I cried. Tearing up again now, it is just beautiful to see Luongo lifting the cup. Hearing the crowd chant LUUUUUUU made it even better.

Barkov lifting the Cup as a first Finnish captain made me tear up a little. What a day for Finnish hockey.

A lot of people forget that back in 1997, Luongo was the highest drafted goalie of all-time and led a career which reflected as such. The man easily retired from the game as being one of the very best players to never win a Cup. And he's also the only goalie to ever captain a team as well as the greatest goalie to ever don the Canucks uniform. Bobby Lu earned his moment of glory.

Panthers have been a sleeper team. They’ve been one of the most consistent teams in the NHL since 2016 and arguably the best team in the NHL the past 3 seasons and back to back Stanley cup final appearances with them winning one. People can throw the irrelevant franchise and attendance stuff all they want. Panthers won the cup and have great fans to show for it. It’s like that in every sport where a team consistently struggles but once they start winning, the page flips. Hockey runs through Florida teams. 3 out of the last 5 with a Florida team being in 4 of 5.
  • I'm honestly glad guys like Lundell, Luostarinen, Forsling and Rodrigues hoist the cup. They're such key components to the Panthers that make them a winning team.
  • My favorite is Paul Maurice. You can feel a long career of anguish he's experienced just absolutely disappear when he lifts it over his head for the first time.

Been a Panthers fan for over half my life. I remember when they made it to the playoffs in 2012 and all the painful years that followed. Seeing Lu lift that Cup really brought me to tears. I'll never forget this night because it washed away all the pain that came with being a fan of this team
  • My fave will always be Ray Bourque, and the classic Sakic moment, but seeing bobby lou finally getting the cup is pretty dang sweet.
  • As a diehard Vancouver fan, after all the fans left the bar tonight, and after they cut off the broadcast audio and put on the regular music... There were a few good old boys; die hard fans who all cheered when Luongo finally lifted the cup, it was beautiful. We all packed up and left shortly there afterwards, but that moment to me is what hockey is all about, and I'm glad you shone the spotlight on it,

Johnny. Been a lifelong panthers fan. God tonight was one of the best nights. With 8 seconds to go my dad and I started screaming at the top of our lungs. Jumped into his arms. Will never forget tonight. All the SHIT years we sat through my dad and I, especially as season ticket holders. The game 7 in 2012 vs the devils that we had to sit there in multiple OTs. This is full circle. There are lifelong panthers fans, I am one of them. Thank you for giving us the credit when due. Go cats. Tonight will change my life forever

The Ovechkin cup lift lives rent free in my head, I loved every second of it and no one else comes close. The speech, the music, the emotion, the roar it's just *chefs kiss

As a Canucks fan who's second team is the Panthers, pure bliss and catharsis when I saw Lu lift the cup, I was quite young during 2011 so a lot of my knowledge of that final was told to me by friends and family so it's kind of a legend of sorts to me, getting to see Luongo lift the cup now in my 20's when I can truly appreciate his impact on my favorite franchises and hockey in general was amazing. Congratulations Panthers and thank you for finally getting Luongo the cup he deserves so much.
  • This was a great series, this is ABSOLUTELY AMAZING south Florida is going insane, I was crying so hard
  • @BestWayKilla
As a Bruins fan who enjoyed making a lot of jokes at his expense for the 2011 Finals, I can say that it was pretty awesome seeing Luongo finally getting to hoist the Cup, and I feel great for him.
