The jelly inside Aloe Vera is a natural source of rooting hormone if you don't wanna bother looking for it at the store. Just slice it open and rub the jelly onto the stem where you have previously scrapped the nodes.

Hi, There is an old saying in Tamil language that "Murungaya vechavan verum kaiyya povan" ( The one plants moringa tree will go empty handed) and it actually means that, The one who plants the moringa tree in their house and then consumes the leaves cooked, Drumstick cooked, will never needs a walking stick. He / she can walk freely with no support in his/ her later ages. And it is. The power of moringa Tree.
  • i planted moringa cuttings about two weeks ago in so cal, they already have new growth. i find that bigger cuttings work better, my theory is that they have more moisture and energy so they root better.
  • I am surprised that you don't eat the tender seed pods of the moringa. They are delicious - a real delicacy in India. Also their flowers are cooked and eaten . The moringa seed pods are called drumsticks and they are lightly peeled and cut into three inch pieces and cooked in lentil curries or daals. When cooked, they flavour the whole daal and you can split them open and suck out the delicious flesh and seed pods while discarding the hard skin. Much like sucking the tender ccentres of artichokes leaves. Only much tastier. .

Hi, this is Annie from Malaysia where Moringga is grown EVERY WHERE, sorry to make you envious. You don't need rooting powder, just cut a branc, about 2 feet in length and stick it in a hole with good fertile soil and it will grow. Even if you stick it in non fertile soil, it will still grow. We never pamper the cuttings. There are quite a few varieties of Moringa.

I would recommend lubing the bottom of the cutting with fresh cowdung(not the manure from it), digging a slender hole in the ground filling it with fresh cowdung and finally pushing vertically and gently the lubed part of the bottom of the cutting into the lubed hole. Fresh cowdung acts as a moisturizer and rooting agent for all cuttings, no fancy rooting hormones are required.
  • That's how we plant moringa here in the Philippines. We ask a neighbor for a mature branch and just stick it on the ground ang in less than 2 weeks, little leaves will sprout usually on the branch nodes.

Wishing you all the best returns for your new journey in life. I continuously watch your former videos on your gardening and learn something new everyday. LOL that's because my memory is short and I have to re-watch everything but I never grow weary of watching your videos thanks for your hard work
  • I had my Morringa in pot and decided to plant in garden but while taking out from pot it two branches broke so I planted both in my planter and it started growing and now I am getting fruits on it too. I love it
  • @elyserva7903
In the Philippines, we just stick them into the ground. Planting them from seeds takes time to be productive!

In India, people cook with moringa pods almost every day, lol! It makes delicious gravy to mix with rice. Pods, leaves, flowers are all edible. In Africa, the seeds are used for water purification.
  • Great video thanks...respect to the moringa tree ancient African tree packed with nutrients
