Welcome to wonderful Waihi! (Pronounced Why - He) This series is based on a location from New Zealand and the city is a combination of Auckland, Melbourne and a bunch of North American cities.

I'm trying to make a very realistic city with this series and intend to run this alongside Lake Hayes in CS2. The map is available from the link below as well as the theme to go with it. Please rate it if you use it! It's appreciated.

About the Map -
Waihi is a fictional place based on New Zealand. Huge alps, lush forests and spectacular blue lakes and rivers can be found in the south Island of NZ and are represented in this map. The north Island is represented by the coast lines, hidden surf spots, back sand beaches from volcanic activity and flat plains perfect for farming are just some of the things you will see in Waihi.

As well as being as realistic as possible, I would like it to function well within game. Thanks to BlueThunder for his help with the series.

Love to see a downtown on a slope, it really is a challenge but it does add a lot of character! And thank you for the wise words. Myself I kind of play the game like a digital model railroad, with all the mods and assets it is perfectly suited for that. Since you have the transit hub out in the open rather than underground, it could be cool to have a large digital display on a wall displaying departures for both the metro and trains?

Well done, DH! I’m on a Mac so I love seeing more CS1 content as much as I love playing it. Like others in the comments, I play like you and Akruas, model railroad-style, but I still keep my city running a profit and smooth traffic. A lot of my inspiration comes while I’m walking or driving around. I’ll see some cool landscaping and want to recreate it; but also, with so many projects, I’ll start building and new ideas spawn, then I destroy that and push it as far as I can. Cheers!

I am right on par with your thinking on the two games. It feels like it will be a couple years before CS2 catches up which sucks but I live that some of you creators still entertain me with these wonderful CS1 builds!
  • The only think that I don't like is on the minite 0.32. That ramp, close to the ship, looks weird! By the way, amazing project as always, DH!

good to see there's still some content for CS I iv been watching some of your content over the past few months no, keep up the great content. i hope to see another coalbed with two dollars twenty again sometime in the future.

Cities with lots of elevation are the best!
  • @Saurion1
Man, people living in that city gotta be in top physical condition to be able to walk around with that amount of slope. Also CS2 sucks and your opinions are on point.
  • @TheBeetrootman
You're not too harsh. CS2 needs a lot of time to mature, unfortunately. We'll stick to CS1 which has a simulation that works and is also coincidentally the best 'diorama' maker game.

Amazing video. Obviously the first thing that come to mind firsttime playing CS2 was 'oh, this game needs more palm trees!'.
  • @AuhoOfficial
im four seconds into the video, have never seen this city, and i already see a crooked house. this gonna be a fun video
  • @craigroaring
Working with elevation adds so much to the build.
  • That has to be one of the funniest CS commentaries i've ever seen, good job BTW do you have a collection of all your assets?
  • @MarcPi
I understand your point of view about CS2, as it have to improve a lot, but right now is a lot better than a month ago. But for your type of gaming style, I think it won't be a game to think about within 2 or 3 years. I like CS2 and I'm playing both.

What network are you using for the pedestrian paths…that thin, white network?
  • Good on you for voting with your wallet by not opening it for the cash grab that is CS2. The more of us do the same, the more likely they might be to actually provide all the stuff that should have been baked into the game at launch for free.
