  • The look on Giles' face as she goes through the list is just hilarious. It goes from concerned, to confused, to a very simple "my kids are so dumb" look until he just breaks down laughing at the absurdity
  • Histerical giggling probably wasn't the reaction she was expecting lol

00:47 The way she looks at him like a daughter looking to her father to see if he's disappointed in her

Rumor has it, this was originally an outtake, but it seemed so real, so human; and so it stayed.

I think it was the sleeping with Spike bit that set him off the most 😀.

I love how Giles face was that of a disappointed father and Buffy was waiting for a "Buffy I am so very disappointed in you" and instead we get this magic scene A.S.H is an underrated actor

As a bonus noticed that the dramatic music stops the moment Giles start laughing

this scene was SO cute. it felt so relieving to just see them laughing after such a dark season

It might not have been planned, but the way the scene ended up is bloody brilliant. The end of the world is coming, everyone's upset, worried, and the two simply needed a few moments like this in order not to explode from fear

in one laugh, Anthony Stewart Head, provides the catharsis that the entirety of season 6 needed. definitely one of the best moments in season 6 and the show in general. I actually like a lot of season 6 even though it gets a lot of flak and I understand why. There's some really, really bad episodes, some poor pacing choices, and some missed opportunities. but I love what it tried to do, and some things it did exactly right. My two favorite moments in season 6 is this moment, and by contrast, the very unfunny but devastating moment of Buffy begging Tara not to forgive her in Dead Things, one of the most powerful moments in TV Drama.

“I leave you kids alone for 5 minutes”

i bet this scene was improvised. And they kept this scene as it was because it felt much better than the original script.

Anthony Stewart Head is a national treasure and must be cherished.

Of all the reactions they COULD have gone with.... anger, sympathy, sorrow, disdain etc.... but to just plain laugh in her face..... THAT is real life. On Film. No drama, no story just "You did fucking WHAT - hahahahahahhaa" which is exactly how your friends would react to you doing something monumentally stupid. "You're a total tit - now lets hug".

Great editing in that you don't see her face when she says 'And I've been sleeping with a Spike.' Instead you see her face straight after as she looks up at him, worried about his reaction. This subtlety gives the scene it's power.
