  • It's been a few years, but an episode with Lee van Cleef is a good place to pick it up again.

Lee Van Cleef was always great in westerns and certainly doesn't disappoint here.

Lee van Cleef was the man. Thanks for the memories. Thanks to Chuck Connors, Paul Fix, and Johnny Crawford as well. RIP.

I love that Lucas does not care what anyone thinks of him. What matters is what he think of himself.

Lee Van Cleef. "I will Lucas...Same quiet place every gunfighter finds..." I put some roses out on his grave every time I go out to visit my mom's. On his grave it says "Best of the Bad" and "Love and Light." The acting in the Rifleman was always unbelievably good, all the minute little expressions that communicated various feelings without saying anything, and in this episode, it was especially good. Hard to believe they have all passed away now. Love and Light, to all of them, and Godspeed.

Thanks for sharing this fantastic episode..! I grew up watching The Rifleman reruns and many other classic western tv shows in the 70s with my retired grandfather, and 50 years later, with my father till he was literally on his death bed. Somehow, all these classic westerns never get old for me as they take me back to some of the best times of my life. Thanks again..!

I’m in my 40’s and I remember seeing The Rifleman on tv as a kid (reruns, of course) and it made an impression. In my opinion, the coolest opening of any show. Now I’m watching through the series and love it!
  • I absolutely love this episode. God rest Lee Van Cleef πŸ˜’β€πŸ‡¨πŸ‡¦
  • I grew up with this generation, and I'm Eternally grateful. People nowadays scoff at "Role Models," but I don't care. I grew up the way a boy is supposed to grow up. Baseball, Hot--dogs, and Mom's hot apple pie on the window seal.

Lee Van Cleef - a certified badass, and this was a year or two before the Spaghetti Westerns and Angel Eyes.

Another good episode! Lee Van Cleef can play the role of a good or bad guy and make it look good.

My dad showed me this show when I was little, along with branded, gunsmoke, Cheyenne and many others. Watched every episode. I hope my son loves these as much as my grandfathers, dad, and me. Maybe it'll help his odds growing up as a boy in this nightmare version of a world we have now.

Lee Van Cleef, this my personal favorite of all the roll he has played in!!!!!!!! A gun fighter with a heart!!!!!
  • Excellent episode! Not only featuring the late great Lee Van Cleef, but Rex Holman also, whom Star Trek fans will remember for his enjoyable performance in the OK Corrale episode, Spectre of the Gun....

This show got me acquainted with lee van cleef. I think I saw good bad ugly as a child, but I completely forgot about it. Nice to see him play a good guy.
  • great episode. Rex Holman was always playing the villain and he had the face for it too.
  • My favorite episode, Lee Van Cleef nails his roll as an aging gunfighter, wanting to settle down but realizing the odds will always be against him ever doing so.
  • "What's a man's life really worth if he's not willing to protect what's his?" They don't teach those values nowadays
