Take heart. Growing pineapple requires lots of patience because it grows very slowly. The good part is very hardy and does not need much care or have any pest-related issues. I have made a video showing the growth rate of seeds vs the crown method in this Part 1. Remember to check out part 2 as well...both videos took more than a year to complete!!

This is just Part 1 only and a lot of people felt the video was incomplete, but please check out Part 2. Part 2 will show the continuity of the same exact plant in the same exact pot until harvest just like the thumbnail picture. Here is the Part 2 link https://youtu.be/8TPFQ053tZ0

Decided to grow some pineapples during pandemic, and there's a new little fruit growing right now!
-
The only way I ever knew how to try and grow a pineapple was just twisting off the top, making sure there's no meat and then letting it root. I had no idea that there were seeds in there! Thank you so much for that one!

I’d never have this kind of persistence, major respect

My mother plants a kind of this pineapple 🍍 in her garden. I do love to eat it. It takes 2 years to grow up and the 3rd year, it will give you a fruit enjoy it!

It's amazing how long it takes to grow a pineapple, and then I see them at Walmart for $1.56.

That last clip of all the pineapples is just 😍 so inspiring!
-
So many pineapples! It must smell amazing
-
Never put it on pizza!

You did so much more work on your crowns than we did. We just cut the top off let it dry for a few days then plant in dirt, kept watered and it grew. Got a nice pineapple on it a few years later. Have done this several times and have 4 or 5 now.

I knew the second step but I never knew that pineapple had seeds thank you for letting me know

I never thought it took that long to harvest pineapple
-
Thanks for the video! I followed it exactly and my pineapple top from the store bought pineapple has roots in about the same time frame of 12 days, so be patient and it will grow!
-
I always thought pineapples grow from trees.
-
Actually really nice to see this from an engineer. I also have a garden full of plants and I am too an engineer. 😊

Such a fresh and organic harvest

It is important to plant pineapple in Dec or Jan or they will not reach full size and you will have a half sized pineapple... It will still taste good but if planted in Dec or Jan it will grow to full normal size

When you exposed the fact you had a whole field of them at the end...my jaw dropped
