“Punk James A Janisse isn’t real. He can’t hurt you” Punk James A Janisse:

That “To the numbers” bit had me feeling things I’ve never felt before. If only Star were here for me to lock eyes with…

24:11 Not only is this a reveal that Grandpa knows about the vampires, and might be a vampire hunter, but there's subtle hints that he might be a half-vampire himself. That extremely red "root beer" is forbidden from the rest of the family. Theory is that's animal blood from all his taxidermy work. He might have been bitten in a previous encounter but has since managed his symptoms. That he reaches for a bottle after slaying the head vampire would suggest he's still affected and there's still another head vampire out there.

“One thing about living in Santa Carla I never could stomach; all the damn vampires.” Quite possibly the greatest final line in horror movie history
  • @batsnghostz
“YOURE A VAMPIRE?! IM TELLING MOM!” My fave line
  • @WynneL
The sympathetic outrage in "THIS POOR WOMAN!!!" was so supportive that I melted. I'm sure moms everywhere appreciate you.
  • It's interesting to me that Claudia from 'Interview with the Vampire' was an inspiration for the (at least initial version of) the screenplay; she becomes an adult woman in a child's body and yet in this movie the vampires' minds seem to freeze at the ages at which they were turned. They're not adults in teenage bodies who behave like teenagers to keep a cover, they really are teenagers. I often think that 'The Lost Boys', more than other vampire fiction, really digs into the idea of vampirism as eternal youth specifically, and the 'Peter Pan' allusions are the perfect way to explore that.

“You have any jobs around here?” “Nothing legal.” I love this movie

I love that every single movie in the extended intro is now covered
  • I’ve got two fun facts: 1.) Michael’s actor Jason Patric is the son of Jason Miller, who was Father Karras in the Exorcist. 2.) Joel Schumacher was going to make a direct sequel called The Lost Girls, but he never got the chance to make it. It would’ve brought back David, which is why his death is the only onscreen vampire death that doesn’t end with the body getting destroyed.

My favorite fact about the movie is that the iconic poster is not a picture of the titular characters, but a FUCKING PAINTING done by legendary artist John Alvin.

Just a few details about the The Lost Buys in case anyone is interested. There was a book released along with this movie that gives more info on characters and backstory. - When Michael was being hazed by the guys and convinced he was eating maggots, he was high as David offered him a smoke. He was sitting down having visions before the scene so he was more open to accepting the things he saw weren't real. - Star was never dating David. David found her while she was homeless on the beach and she feels like she owes him. Star was actually closer with Paul who she said always made her laugh and assured her they were getting Michael and Sam to join them as brothers. She comments that the other two members of the gang, Marco and Dyawne, usually ignored her. - Michael spent a lot of time with the gang in the book. It shows his transforming happening over months and some extra scenes like Star piercing his ear and David coming across Michael and Star after they spent the night together. it awkward but David's just chill with it which i guess further proves he wasn't dating Star (or is super open). - There's more scenes of Lucy and Grandpa including backstory. Lucy was a hippie who ran away to be with Michael and Sam's dad and Grandpa was uptight. The last time Lucy saw her dad was at her mother's funeral where he fought with her husband but she says he was smart and proper like always. So when she sees how easy going and laid-back he is it is a shock to her. - There are hints in the book that the boys kidnap/kill/feed so much because they just like the slaughter. They typically tear their victims apart rather than bite at the wrist or neck which means they don't actually drink that much blood.

What's cool about the comics is that the Sax Player is a vampire hunter and that oil he has on his body is to ward off vampires.

R.I.P. to Corey Haim, Barnard Hughes, Brooke McCarter, Edward Herrmann, and Joel Schumacher. Corey Haim is the reason why I watched it when I turned 12, and The Lost Boys is my number 1 horror movie. "You never grow old, you'll never die, but you must feed." Best vampire quote.
  • @quantumridge7269
Claudia is the name of the young vampire girl in IWTV, not Carmilla, also the lady in the Dracula clip isn’t Lucy that’s Mina lol
  • @CyberkillGames
"One thing I can never stand about living in Santa Carla I could never stomach: All the damn vampires." is one of my favorite closing lines in film.

I had the honor of meeting Kiefer Sutherland, Jason Patric, Alex Winter and Billy Wirth at Monster Mania Con last year, and they were all perfect gentlemen. Incredibly charming, kind and wonderful to talk to. I can see why they all were chosen for this movie ❤️❤️❤️
