Some friends and I trying out one of the multiplayer arenas in Borderlands for the first time. Note: They're many levels above me. This was just for fun.

Thanks to Logan and Dalton. :3

For whatever reason, the encoder reversed reds and blues. So, if it looks strange, it's because those two should be reversed. Doesn't really affect the video, though.

They're all over. There's one right outside of Fyrestone. Go up toward T.K.'s place and on the way you'll see a big sign off to your right that says Arena.

@sniperpwnerzz Yeah, he's definitely fun to play. Getting it so your pet can hit 5/6 people and daze them every time is amazing.
  • @Spo8
Agreed. My friends and I spent over 60 hours in the game and probably 40 minutes of that was the arena.

if this game had regular multiplayer it would be awesome. i am thinking of buying the game but because the multiplayer is alright and its an arena, its on the bottom of my list right now

@XThedirtyseagullX Yeah, there are more open ones. Or at least one more open one. When I tried it was back when I was focused on the more powerful, slow firing rifles. Now I'm using faster firing ones, so that might be better. But you can take someone down pretty quickly with a couple shots, at least as long as you can get their shields down. The bloodwing + a couple blows from the sniper rifle combo should do it.

The fact that you held you own against people 6 levels superior to you is very impressive, kudos

You just go to one of the arenas when you have at least one other person in your game. There's a screen in there that you use to set up the teams and start a match. It's just deathmatch, but you can configure the teams however you want.
  • @Spo8
@XThedirtyseagullX A fully leveled Bloodwing is basically unstoppable, but the problem is not getting destroyed before it has a chance to get someone. Scoped weapons like what I was using are useless in such close quarters, but I bet a pistol-oriented hunter could do well.
  • @Spo8
It's just what it does at the start of every round. I agree, kind of weird.
  • @Spo8
It's just deathmatch, but you can make the teams whatever you want. 3 v 1, 2 v 2, etc. It'd be really cool if they had something like 8 v 8 matchmaking with objective based games. As it is, though, it's only with people you invite into your game world and you have to go to an arena in the world to play.
  • @Spo8
@FireFz You have to physically travel to one of the arenas to use them. They're scattered around the world.

@LAWSON189 I use Xfire's built-in video recorder. It's pretty good at recording in high definition.
  • @Spo8
@domnik25 Mostly the multiplayer is playing the normal game co-op. You can do deathmatches like this, but only with people that are already in your game. Basically, don't buy it expecting to do deathmatches, because you'll have trouble finding people that want to do them. It's a fun game, though.
  • @Spo8
@Notorious250 Unfortunately not. You can only play with your three friends. You can change the teams to be however you want, but there isn't any kind of matchmaking.
  • @Spo8
@XThedirtyseagullX Yeah, he's actually insanely overpowered if your Bloodwing is leveled all the way up. Other people get taken down in one hit, mostly. It's not that much fun since you can either destroy people with no skill using your bloodwing or die trying to use a sniper rifle in the tiny arenas. Not sure how it would be for someone heavily into pistols.

Geez they should have just made a mode dedicated to multiplayer where you can have 4 player splitscreen and you can choose whatever one of the 4 classes, have some arenas to pick from, and then each match u can find randomly generated weapons throughout...it all seems so logical to me xD
  • @JeremyLam0
@Spo8 also the talent which makes u ignore shields is overpowered as hell
  • @cooly105
at first starting of video you will here those guys huhuhuhuhuhuhu and make noises funny lol thats epic
  • @vilane421
how you play arena. i think an options menu would be easier. i guess it adds to the atmosphere. is arena like Team deathmatch or like Demon's Souls? where it's PvP?
  • @Spo8
The encoder messed some of the colors up. Reds and blues are reversed, I think.
