Isn’t language an amazing thing? Like we decided a long time ago that we wanted to draw shapes and lines to understand each other and document things and idk I think that’s adorable
  • Please never apologize for taking our time, we are gladly giving you all of our time just to watch you grind ink! Thank you for the soothing and interesting video! 💗

My old school required the students to write Chinese calligraphy and I could never write it beautifully not matter how hard I tried. Watching you write it was mind blowing cause I can just imagine the practice you had to do to get to that stage of skill!
  • she gives me a warm feeling in my heart, like im a little kid watching her do this and its so saticfying

I think I once heard you say that grinding the ink helps clear and prepare your mind for calligraphy. The same is true when you watch calligraphy - the process of grinding the ink gets you into the right mindset for what is to come. It is NEVER a waste of time to watch you grinding ink. Everything you do on your channel is peaceful, relaxing and a very good investment of the viewers time.

I’m glad that you started doing calligraphy videos again! It’s what got me started into chinese calligraphy!

She's like a chinese bob ross, very soothing voice. 🥰😍

This is also nice to hear someone speak Chinese not in an old agressove way as it’s depicted so often in movies and other videos

I studied in a Chinese Catholic school growing up and Chinese calligraphy was my favorite thing to do. My teachers were quite amazed that I have quite good penmanship. Even won several Chinese calligraphy awards in High School. Seeing this, makes me want to buy a mao bi and start calligraphy again!

This is genuine ASMR. Unintentional and natural. The way she sounds out “ssshh” in the words.

An interesting observation i had while watching this video: Life is very fast paced nowadays. This video reminds us to slow down and calm down to enjoy life.

Oh! This video reminded me of why I fell in love with Chinese Calligraphy! When I started learning Chinese I found it to be an extremely challenging language, but the peace and artistic joy that calligraphy brought with it was what took me through to keep going! I will go get some brushes tomorrow and start practicing again!

I know these videos are for helping people relax, and maybe end up sleeping, but you have a great sense of humor, so I find myself actually paying attention to what you are doing. I am learning a lot just watching you.

To all westerners watching this calligraphy video, if you ever pick up chinese calligraphy, make sure you write it from top to bottom, right to left. - The writer has beautiful letterforms but any practitioners writing should write in the direction I mentioned above to set up the 'stage'/framework properly, the energy flows that way, vertically, right to left. ~

She wipes her brush on a paper towel and it looks 1000x better than my best attempts at calligraphy. Back to practicing I guess!
