Though I am unsure who started the trend, this video was inspired by Gelnox, check his version out here:
• The bagel effect
Spider-verse meme about the recent bagel effect/the spot origin trend, a lot of the versions I saw were pretty basic so I tried to make an improved version.
All Across the Spider-Verse footage used was taken from existing trailers.

I have finally returned. I'm actually working on a bigger meme project right now, but saw this trend and decided to make a quick meme. Hope you enjoy 🦆

Imagine a bagel being your villain origin story
-
I don’t think I ever laughed harder in my life when the Spot revealed that he got hit with that bagel
-
bro dropped the hardest bagel effect edit and though we wouldn't notice
-
Imagine destroying the multiverse because you threw a bagel at someone's head
-
If I had a penny for every multiverse film that involved a bagel, I would have two pennies, which isn't a lot but it's weird that it happened twice.
-
I like how the spot literally became a villain because miles threw a bagel at him
-
Man that bagel really hit the spot 😂
-
The bagel is actually teasing the main villain of 'Beyond the Spider-Verse.' Think about it. What does a bagel do? It rolls. Notice the shape of the bagel, what does it remind you of? A wheel. Ladies and gentlemen, Big Wheel was the puppet master pulling the strings all along.
-
It’s honestly crazy how they turned this joke of a villain into the biggest threat of the Multiverse.
-
"He took a bagel!" was not being said with anger, but with fear.
-
Bro went from trying so hard to steal an ATM to literally devouring multiverse in 1 movie
-
That spot really hit the bagel.
-
I get the feeling the people making the new Spider-verse watched Everything Everywhere All At Once a couple hundred times. There's too many similarities for that not to be the case.
-
Neither did Miles know that bagel literally cost everything in the near future.
-
that spot really bageled the hit
-
Spider-Man bringing out the Bagel effect to the residents is so inspirational. Finding out such a bagel would turn someone into another villain isn’t everyday 🤯
-
While the attention’s on this scene, I like how Peter has Miles give him the computer so that they’ll be more likely to target him and not Miles
-
I loved how that one scientist was more angry that they took a bagel instead of being angry they stole the breifcase
-
The hole in the bagel does some excellent foreshadowing for the films next villain, because atsp is all about holes. Truly brilliant stuff from our writers at sony
