Zelda Lore To Sleep To | Temple of Time, Master Sword & Forgotten Temple

God I so desperately want tears of the kingdom to lean heavily on skyward swords lore. Seeing an old location would make my inner child so so happy.

Dude, all I do is sleep to gaming lore and essays. This is gonna be everything I need.

My theory on why Zelda put the Master Sword in the Lost Woods and not the Great Plateau is because if the Master Sword was on the Great Plateau, Link could grab it during the tutorial and get killed trying to pull it out.

I will help you understand Temple of Time's map positioning. Nintendo has not shown us a full map of Hyrule until Breath of the Wild (technically Four Swords Adventures but you couldn't actively travel on the map in that game). We have only played in SELECT SECTIONS of Hyrule's total map in the games. The Sealed Temple/Temple of Hylia of Skyward Sword, the Temple of Time of Ocarina of Time, the Temple of Time of Twilight Princess, & the Temple of Time of Breath of the Wild are ALL in the same place. Ocarina of Time map's fools people because they see Hyrule Castle as the Top of the map. But you know Hyrule Castle always resides in a CENTRAL area of Hyrule. So that means that there is land ABOVE Hyrule Castle in that game but we're just not allowed to play in it. ALSO pay close attention to the Picture of Ocarina of Time Map shown in the game's manual. You see that odd little Black Arrow that is pointing Upper Right in the Directional Legend? THAT is the TRUE North! Nintendo pulled a Sleight of Hand making you think the Up Arrow was North but it's actually Northwest! This helps you line up the maps more accurately instead of just doing a simple overlay like most people do. Monster Maze did Hyrule Geography History videos a while back explaining the seemingly different maps. He got wrongfully hung up on Four Swords Adventures & couldn't understand it but the rest of it was good. He RIGHTFULLY explains how FORESTS can be CUT DOWN & GROWN UP over time. Think about the land now called the United States of America about 600 years ago before the Europeans came over & think how different things were then. Imagine literal thousands of years under these scenarios in a land of magic & mystery. The Temple of Hylia from Skyward Sword was in a CENTERPOINT between Faron Woods, Eldin Volcano, & Lanayru Desert. The Temple of Time from Ocarina of Time was ALSO in a CENTER area hence Hyrule Castle & Castle Town. The Temple of Time from Twilight Princess doesn't SEEM to be in a CENTER area but that's because Hyrule Castle was rebuilt NORTHWARD after the Gerudo Attack in the Child Timeline currently being covered in MajorLink's A Hero's Purpose Part 5. The Ocarina of Time's Hyrule Castle & Castle Town was destroyed & Hyrule Castle was rebuilt Northward. The Faron Woods AKA the Kokiri Forest grew Northward eventually surrounding the old Castle & becoming the Sacred Grove. The Temple of Time from Breath of the Wild is seemingly a REBUILT Temple commemorating the original Temple & its also in a CENTRAL area of the map. There are very plausible theories that Akkala is ACTUALLY the lands of Zelda 1 & Zelda 2. There are very plausible theories that A Link to the Past's map lines up perfectly with other maps if you turn it Clockwise 45 degrees. We don't even get to PLAY in the "Faron" region of that game which is off the map to the Southeast with that turn. And modern "Hebra" or "Snowpeak" would be Northwest past that region's NORTHERN Lost Woods. Very accurate to Breath of the Wild, wouldn't you say? We all know the Lanayru Desert, the Desert of Mystery, the Haunted Wasteland, & the Gerudo Desert are all the same place. Desert's always towards the West one way or another, right? Don't get too attached to HARD North, South, East, West directions. Pay more attention to how key locations generally relate to each other on the map & then move map accordingly. This is how Nintendo keeps the map feeling new for play while still adhering to the lore they set down.

I‘m sick with an infection right now, and can barely sleep at night through the pain and other symptoms, but just listening to this in the background made it easier for me, because it distracted me a bit from how I‘m feeling, but also was so calming that I could still fall asleep while listening. I am a little embarrassed to say that before BOTW the only Zelda game I finished all the way through was Wind Waker. I have been watching these videos non-stop since I found your channel. I have learned SO much information and it has me seeing things SO much differently in TOTK. I am amazed at the incredibly rich, complicated, and beautiful lore this game has! Thank you so much for putting work into these! You're helping me experience the games in a much more thorough way, and for most of them, for the first time <3

To add onto the Forgotten Temple being buried and it looking like an excavation, what if this was where Vah Medoh was found? And, upon seeing an outer wall of the Forgotten Temple, they continued digging until they unearthed it in the state we find it in in game? Great video, BTW! Despite it's name, I can't fall asleep, I'm too absorbed in the lore and don't wanna miss anything XD

This is the 2nd video I watched, and I enjoyed both videos. The flow, the narration, the sound, and the voice are relaxing.

BoTW has vaguely confirmed place on the end of all the timelines. And architectural changes between temples of Time can be explained by it being damaged many times over the history oh Hyrule. But location itself is hella confusing. But many landmarks shift their positions so, that is kinda hard to explain in a way to make sense. Great landmass swap does make sense if it happened around first calamity. We don't really know that much about that time. only that it happened, Sheikah helped, and then were distrusted for holding massive power. But we know those things only because they're story significant. Landmass swap so far is not important for the story of BoTW, so it's not impossible it just was never mentioned. Remember that BoTW happens in times when that time would be double legendary. It is post apo story, so many stories has been lost to time or mutated so much, you get Hero with a Mastertorch
