  • Electricity in Vancouver is normally all Hydro. There might be a natural gas peaker plant, but when you charge your car, the electricity is normally generated by a water-driven turbine.

As a Vancouverite I agree with pretty much all of this. I will say that as a woman who's not 6'5'', I used to work in the DTES and have never been accosted by the homeless folks there. I've even walked alone in a mini skirt at night and not been so much as cat-called. Ironically I've had way more trouble with regular dudes harassing me or following me from the train. It makes me really sad that we price people out of housing in Vancouver, then criminalize their homelessness. I'm hoping the city takes a turn for compassion, since it's kinder (and cheaper!!) to help people with housing and addiction support than it is to constantly harry them or trash their belongings.

This is by far the most detailed, the most comprehensive and the best video about Vancouver....

Vancouver is where you wake up every day remembering I Live in Vancouver !❤:-D
  • Hey Trav. Great video! I really enjoyed hearing about your experience and perspective on living in Vancouver. Pretty solid observations and superb b-roll! As a born and raised Vancouverite, I share your enthusiasm and optimism for this beautiful place. We aren't perfect, but we are darn close to it!

One thing to add, Pacific Central Station also grants access to the US through Amtrak Cascades service.

Thank you Trav, for sharing your experience. I moved to Vancouver from Seattle around the same time as you. I feel assured to see you confirm some of my own impressions. A heavenly city, with a heavenly price tag coming with it.

I moved here from England in April and I think you’ve hit the nail on the head - the lifestyle, accessibility and scenery alone help me justify the cost and have had nothing but great weather so far. I have a 1 bedroom fully furnished with bills apartment for $2800 and the sad thing is I feel lucky to be paying that because it’s so tough to find a place that checks all the boxes. I haven’t experienced winter here yet of course but in no way do I regret this move so far! Also first time commenting but I’ve watched your videos since the junior B days that I found when killing time working in a pro shop back home - keep the content coming Trav

As soemone who lives in Montreal I will say I find Vancouver very interesting. I couldn't afford to live there but the mountains, the ocean, wow is that ever a nice view. Hope you enjoy your life there buddy, stay safe !

Vancouver is great city to tour around! I love Stanley park! And Squamish and Whistler is breath taking! North Vancouver got real nice housing that way! Great video! Best of luck this season! 👊🏼

As an American living in San Diego, I would rate Vancouver as the best city in North America, hands down! I have visited three times on vacation and if I win the lottery I will move there. Great video Trav, good luck this season!

What A VIDEO ✅ A beautiful place and one that I love to call home,, but nothing is perfect. FACTS Great visuals and shots my man 🤙
  • I want to live in a city that shuts down because of a cm of snow. It's such a waste of time shovelling snow. It is nature's way of saying "don't live here". As with Vancouver keep the snow on the top of mountains and go and play up there all you want. Just make sure you live in a place that has so many mountain slopes so close you can go to them after work.
  • I made it out to Vancouver last fall for my first time and it was breathe taking! definitely just a place for me to visit, but I can see why living there would be great!
