Joshua Bassett doesn’t believe Olivia Rodrigo ever truly loved him

I love both Josh and liv dearly, honestly but the sound of his voice, him trying not to break, it's just so sad and he's making such a good point. I respect them both. They both deserved better

i like olivia and the songs that she writes and she, of course, still has the right to express her feelings through music. i respect her for not revealing the identities of who she's talking about in her music (though it's pretty obvious to say the least) but it does not sit right with me that she doesn’t defend joshua and especially sabrina when she finally has the platform to influence so many people when the two were getting death threats. specifically from olivia's fans. joshua didn't even cheat on her with sabrina. it’s not okay for olivia to have allowed this to happen.

When he was getting death threats, she should have told her fans to stop. Because if a guy wrote a song and a woman was getting death threats the media would be all over his ass.

Don't forget the fact that if he had waited 12 hours he would've died and he only had 32% chance of survival. I think that this video really shows how great of a human being he is and doesn't deserve what he's been put through 😭 also no flex but I was part of his 0.05% fanbase on Spotify so 🥳 I hope he never stops making music

honestly he's right lmao like i get olivia was heartbroken but she knew he was struggling mentally (helped him find a psychologist) and just aired out all their problems to the world, fed him to the dogs, and didn't say anything, while he was literally on a hospital bed fighting for his life, and yet he was STILL supporting her, never fed into the drama and only said his side of the story AFTER all the drama was over.

woah. this gives SO much perspective on their relationship because the way olivia's music made it seem was that he was super uncaring and distant, when in reality she was like that too.

These comments are obviously by young people because the fact is, he’s right. Even if you argued with your family member, if you heard they were at the hospital you’d go and check on them, wouldn’t you? He didn’t cheat, he just broke up with her? And yes, if you love somebody you’d still show up to see them when they’re going through something like that. Because if you loved them, you wouldn’t want to take the risk of never seeing them again?

couldn’t have said it better! i feel so bad for josh he didn’t deserve any of that. i lost so much for respect for olivia. the least she could’ve done was spoken up but no she just let everyone treat him like shit while she sits quiet and enjoys the fame. josh literally said to never hate on anyone and to treat everyone with love and respect. did olivia do that?? no. i’m proud of him. he still keeps smiling and spreading positivity even tho no one showed him it back. i love josh endlessly for that <3

I respect that they’re both artists and have the right to express their feelings. But I stand by the fact that Olivia should have told her fans to stop spreading hate and death threats. It was so astronomical and all over social media that there’s no way she was unaware. She even said she hated the narrative that went around about a love triangle but never said a thing to stop it. Even Selena Gomez has stopped her fans when they wanted to organize a hate train against Hailey Bieber. A simple IG story or a tweet could’ve helped even a little bit. And then to find out that she didn’t visit him either…I understand why he questioned if she ever loved him. Also, people make him out to be the villain like he’s not allowed to break up with someone and move one with his life…that’s called dating. They were super young anyways.

I love Olivia Rodrigo and her music and her ability to write about what she went through and how she felt about it without necessary naming names. I also would totally respect if she no longer loved him or had any romantic feelings toward him at all after what happened. Someone does not need to fall in love once and than stay in love with them no matter what they do. Especially if lots of people including him acted like a women voicing her opinion is her being calculated. Finally I don’t know what she was going through doing this time. But I feel nonetheless like she should have said something to her fans to not attack anyone. That may not have changed anyone’s behaviour but it would have shown that at least she tried.

I personally think they both did nothing wrong. They are both great people and nobody needs to attack Joshua, Olivia or Sabrina. Everybody makes mistakes!

Honestly, he is very wise, and all he is saying is true. Heartbreak does hurt, I’ve been through it, but when you actually truly love somebody, you find it deep within yourself to forgive them and wish for them to be “happier” in the future. Love is not envious and it does not boast.. idk

I love Olivia's music she's really talented but what she did to Joshua and Sabrina letting them fall and taking all the hate from her fans are just brutal and selfish. If I were Olivia I would consult to Joshua if it's fine to released a song about him. Yes Olivia has the rights to express her emotions but JOSHUA ALSO HAS THE RIGHTS to KNOW. Olivia's spreading her point of view on their private relationship she should have known that it will hurt Joshua badly not being aware he's being used. And to all of you who calls him a cheater, bitches he never cheat. Joshua said on his song that it's Olivia who broke up with him and Olivia said on traitor herself they're over before he's been linked to sabrina. I just hate those toxic fans who ruined thia man. He's just a boy who fell out of loved. Stop acting liked you never hurt anyone in your life. He's just a human. He has the rights to love and fell out of love like everyone else. If they are just normal peopleyou wouldn't even give a fuck about him.

I really feel bad for Joshua esp when filming s2. I remember reading that everyone except 1 sided with Olivia and Josh somehow felt alienated by them due to Olivia's Sour Album but when Joshia and Sabrina released a song everyone still bashed them because they are die hard Olivia fans. He almost died! I beam with pride because Olivia is a Filipina but how can I like her when she acts like the victim when apparantly she is not?

This has to be the most manipulative thing I've seen today. First of all he didn't ever say that it's about Olivia. And secondly, nor do we know anything about them. These tik toks should stop.

I still like Olivia’s music. A lot of her fans were connected to her music because they had empathy. Finding this out really does change my perspective on her.
