Theorists, now that Comic Con happened and we got a peek into the newly expanded plans for the MCU, I think it's time for a little theory I've been kicking around. An... Ant-Man sized theory you might say. You see, I think I know what the big event of Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania is going to be. We already know that Kang is going to show up, so it has to be some thing BIG. I think our favorite multi-sized hero is going to DIE!

Admittedly that does sound like something Disney would do. Killing Scott to replace him with Hope and his daughter just sounds very plausible.

This would be an interesting concept as it could be a good sacrifice for Scott to maybe save one of his love ones. But it will also be a good way to makes kang super intimidating. Showing that nobody is safe and anyone can die.

Another Marvel “pattern” is death and returning secretly as another hero. Like Hawkeye did becoming Ronin. In the comics Ant Man “died” but then returned as Yellow Jacket. Also, we all know young heroes need mentors. Scott could potentially be Cassie’s mentor as well when he returns, taking more or a background role.

I bet Matpat is just following Dr. Strange's advice: "If I tell you what happens, it won't happen" and wants to keep his secretly favorite character in the MCU to live

The theory is very on point, especialy with Scot being in the last couple of titles, shown as celebrity and having a podcast, kind of hyping his caracter just to have him killed. It would make sence with phases splits, Phase 4 introduced a lot of new characters and potential Avengers, and Phase 5 should start killing them off one by one.

I feel like this is the best way to do it, but they’re going to have Hank Pym wear the costume again and him sacrifice himself, because he was Ant-Man also. And both him and Kang are both really smart, so there’s definitely room for rivalry in there as well.

Personally I believe that there is definitely a large pool of characters that could die, wether that be Ant man, Wong, or another character. Any of these deaths would be a great pinch point

I'm nervous. Mat has been accurate with these MCU theories lately. He almost guessed the whole MOM plot almost beat per beat.

This is honestly better than any trailer. It gives you the urge to see the movie to find out if the theory is correct, gives you suspense if you watch the movie without knowing if it's going to happen, just that it might could. The stakes for this movie are already higher than for most other movies

Seems MatPat failed to remember that Scott Lang is not the only Ant-Man in the Ant-Fam. Hank Pym is far more likely to die in Quantumania than Scott.

The way MatPat describes Kang at the beginning really reminds me of the plot for everything everywhere all at once
