The ending with you asking about your shirt was awesome lol. It shows how you are just "one of us." Idk, I think the more you show how ordinary you are, the more attainable a "good boy" dog is for the rest of us. I have been working with my Great Dane for several months. When I got him, he was scared to even eat out of a dog dish. He has come a long way and has a long way to go, but it feels doable when I watch these videos.

I took in a rehome rottie this past weekend. He came with a choke collar and a leash. We walked to the Goodwill and lo and behold there was a brand new gentle leader in the pet section for $7.99! I can say, his demeanor has changed and he carries himself like a much happier dog.
  • I use the gentle leader on my male Great Dane and it works so well! Your method has saved our walks! He wasn’t a puller but he used to be leash reactive. Thank you Joel 🙏🏻
  • The minute I put the gentle leader on my 100 lb strong lab, he is absolutely a perfect gentleman. Amazing! It's the only training aid that works 100% for me. Love your videos!!! I've learned a ton.

Spot on. These devices are excellent and offer an (almost) instant solution to lead issues. My young GSP wants to do everything at 100 miles per hour. He was a horror on the lead. On the first two occasions he tried to get it off, but he soon came to associate it with having fun. He now walks to the park to play with his ball very well. No pulling.

The poor camera person lol. This was a cramped space and they did great getting the right angle to see everything. Thanks for running around for us!
  • My dog barely pulls on a harness, but after listening to Joel talk about the gentle leader I decided to get one and holy shit they are the best thing ever. My dog goes from being slightly in front with a few pulls to walking right beside me and no pulling after only one self correction. Best thing ever made. Decided to add that I also got a gentle leader for my brother's new husky pup, (7 months) and she went from pulling like he was a sled to walking beside with a few pulls here and there. My brother couldn't be happier.
  • It is amazing how good you are at your job and how good you are at teaching!

Your awsome Joe love your zero tolerance to bs. Best trainer on the internet
  • Here's my comment for the algorithm without stating anything specific about my dog because I'm so tired of people in the comments of dog training videos trying to tell me how to train my dog without ever seeing him. That said, thank you for always mentioning that you wouldn't use the same approach with different dogs when you give a demonstration. I never had trouble teaching my dog not to pull on the leash, but your loose leash method was also a great tool in teaching him to ask me for a permission before crossing a street. I don't have to give him a verbal "stop!" anymore!

I got gentle leaders for my huskies and they work great! Just now learning to phase them it during walks from this video. Will start doing that with them!

Got a gentle leader a week ago. "Conditioned" my 9 month old 42 pound chocolate lab at home with wearing it for a few minutes a few times a day and giving treats. Walked around a few times in the house.. walked around a few times in the back yard. My 'sled dog' went from sled dog pulling, to loose leash walking in one walk session around the neighbohood. She does constantly try and rub her face in the snow to take it off, but other than that it's been AMAZING.

My dog gets excited when the gentle leader comes out...he knows we are going places.

Picked up a gentle leader for my 3yo pit after watching some of your videos using it. I tried a few other things with moderate success, but the gentle leader worked. I had a loose leash 1/8th of the way into our walk with my dog watching me and where I was going. He still wanted to go to other dogs, but the reaction was far calmer, and he came back to me faster. Best $20 I've spent on training supplies.
