At a fundraising concert for Chords 2 Cure (a pediatric cancer research foundation) in Santa Monica, California, Chris Martin surprised a delighted crowd by joining a rock band of 8th graders called A-Side and playing "Fix You," "Twisted Logic," and covering Prince's "Raspberry Beret" – what a magical, incredible thing to do for everyone, especially the young musicians on the stage (who played really well!)

Holy shit, this is the best sounding 8th grade band I’ve ever heard. You don’t even want to hear the crap I was playing at their age.

“Do you want to go to your brother’s concert?” “No, it’s gonna be boring”

Huge props to the kid on the drums!!! Brilliant.
  • @Ardnightian
The fact that this is the only live version of twisted logic we’ll ever see is kinda incredible

Chris Martin plays guitar with some middle school kid Comments: "that drummer in the back is insane"
  • @mr.masuka1310
I love how he sings with all his heart even though he's not in front of some humongous crowd

Chris is great but can we talk about how freaking talented these kids are? The bassist is on point and the drummer! wow!! Electric guitar holding it down great solo and the keyboardist is so solid. Im impressed and this is from a lifelong musician

I feel like Chris is a genuinely good person. I have always felt that. It’s hard not to have a huge ego when you are that big of a celebrity, but he has always seemed to be down-to-earth! Respect!
  • Chris Martin flexing on literally everyone with that voice Except that drummer

Always love that moment the drummer kicks into overdrive in Fix You, that kid nailed it. The entire band did.

That drummer did as close to the originals as you could.

I love how half way through, Chris looks down at the pianist next to him sees the enjoyment on the kids face and Chris just beams a massive smile at him. All sharing a love of music.

How many rock stars would do this? Chris Martin you're a legend, and this little school band seriously rock!

Love to see professional artists take the time out to encourage young musicians, who all kept it together and played like pros themselves.
