  • How can someone resist this masterpiece. 2024 and I still get overwhelmed with emotions whenever I listen to this album. ❀

I came out of the womb a hip-hop fan but as a kid my mom didn't share my enthusiasm for it. So when I was 10 and got a new stereo for my birthday, she bought me Hybrid Theory instead of whatever rap cd it was I wanted. To this day, I can't thank her enough. Thanks, Mom! πŸ˜‚
  • Only group of musicians that managed to combine rap, rock, emo and rock into Divine πŸ™‚

Without a doubt one of the best albums I ever bought with my money. Back then the Internet just went big. These guys were something new, something else - Almost every track is a banger. R.I.P. legend

Who started listening to LP as a teenager and is still listening today in your mid-30s?
  • That distinct specific sound of Papercut right when the CD starts is gold. Gets you going even 24 years later.

I don't know who or what got me started on Linkin Park, and hell I can't even rememeber when. The only thing I remember was my first iPod and a family friend put "In The End" on there. I got the new iPod the following year (looked like the giant iPod the size of phones today, but shrunk down to be like a perfect square) and the first albums I bought were all Linkin Park, and that's when Minutes to Midnight was just released. I remember nights after middle school just having Hybrid Theory & Meteora on repeat while I grinded my character out on Runescape; same 2 albums, no others, for close to 2 years straight & never got tired of them. LP got me through the separation & divorce of my parents, the depression that followed, the abuse of mom & her boyfriend, dad being so mad at me and my brother for "being the reason him and mom got the G-D divorce", deaths in the family, and all the crappy middle/high school break-ups where your world is just over (you know what I'm talkin about πŸ˜‚). This all started when I was 11-12 and now I'm 29, going on 30, with a son and he loves any time I turn on Linkin Park. I can't wait until he's a little older and I can see his face when all these songs are played for the first time :)

It's 2024, still one of my favorite albums from Linkin Park. ❀

I remember being that hippie dread headed teenager rocking out to this band; just a classical rock band

I used to listen to this when I was 12/14. Back then didn't understand any of the lyrics because english is not my native language. But it was on damn fucking repeat. I used to fall asleep with this album. And yeah, it was a very rough time because of family reasons, bullying in school etc. Now that I'm 35, know english, and can understand what these lyrics were trying to convey to me, I would have provably felt less lonely. It hits different, at 35, and getting so fucking emotional now...

If music was a time machine, I'm back in my room in high school (2001) just chilling to this album.
