JUST TO MAKE THINGS CLEAR: I have made an explanatory video quite long ago, which clearly explains where do the sound effects from this trailer come from. All comments repeating that they are 100% fake will be instantly deleted. They are simply spam comments. Please watch the following video to discover whether they are 100% fake or not and where do they come from: Does Claude speed really talk? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fuj6m2hwn64 Rockstar Games confirmed it is fake but there is one small inconsistency. They have included this video in their E3 2001 Promotional Disc - if it is fake, it is made 100% by Rockstar Games. Here is the presentation of this disc created by my good friend Matt: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_c5mNg-wrck So, you know, Rockstar Games can confirm everything but the fact that they have included this video on their own disc is interesting, don't you think? And they have said that the video was dubbed by someone else than Rockstar Games. I think it is a BIG lie because of the fact that it can be found on their own disc. If you want to know where do these sounds come from, please watch the following video of mine: Does Claude speed really talk? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Fuj6m2hwn64 My video clearly shows that these sounds definitely derive from GTA2 soundbank and it's NOT Claude who makes them but random pedestrians from GTA2 (including the hijacker pedestrian in the green shirt) Although, there is absolutely no confirmation that these sounds were actually in-game sounds of GTA3 and most likely they were later edited into the footage like I've said in my video. Who edited the original footage? It remains unknown but the fact is that it was most likely done by Rockstar Games, even if they sounds were dubbed. Rockstar Games says it was IGN but it could not be if the video was included on Rockstar's own promotional disc. Greetings.

This trailer was so intense, gritty, menacing and dark than the definitive version.

The atmosphere in this trailer is truly much darker than the final released version, and diametrically opposed to some beta (we're actually more talking about alpha version) screenshots! It reminds me how Liberty City was depicted in the game's manual and some magazines, where danger awaits around every corner! Thanks for this awesome upload anyway!

The way he said he got a gun it's just terrifying

the atmosphere in this trailer is really gritty. the way it show "Liberty City 2001" with that sick track in the background, I love it so much I have to come back to this once in a while.

This game was revolutionary and marked the beginning of open world games.

TBH the get out of the car line could easily be coming from the NPC being pulled out. The game was still in early development and I know its common place for place holder lines used for testing to correspond to what triggered the line. so for example if the trigger for an npc saying a line is ‘seeing claude has a gun’ then they would play “he’s got a gun” which then alerts the developer while testing “ok the dialogue trigger for seeing a gun works”. same with claude pulling that guy out of the car. It could easily just be a re-used line attached to the NPC to let the developers know that the ‘pulling out of a car’ dialogue trigger works. This seems like the most realistic option to me, that way rockstar are telling the truth when they say claude was never planned to talk and it also explains why this audio is on an official non edited trailer.
  • Nice trailer the ambient music and dark tone really shows off the dark gritty vibe and atmosphere of liberty in Gta III.

I traveled back to 2001 and the game trailer looks scary

It’s interesting how Rockstar said this was fake, yet this was seen on an E3 disc…
