Leopard Geckos are some of the best pet animals you could ever keep. Reptiles can make awesome pets and all sorts of lizards seem to be becoming more popular to keep as pets for children and adults. Weather it's your first or fiftieth pet reptile, Leopard Geckos make great cold blooded companions. These medium sized pet lizards only get about 7-10 inches on average and weight in at a mere 50-80 grams usually. Giant Leopard Geckos and Super Giant Leopard Geckos are outliers of course. The space requirement is also very easy with a minimum size enclosure being a 20 gallon long tank or about 30x18 inches in floor space. If you wanted to go larger with a 40 gallon enclosure or even bigger that would also be a great idea! To keep your new friend at the correct temperature I recommend an overhead heat source like a halogen light or maybe a ceramic heat emitter with a stone under the heat source to catch the warmth. You can also heat the enclosure form the bottom with heat tape or a heat mat on a thermostat if you choose. Offering hides on both sides and a humid hide to help the animal shed and hydrate is also a great idea. Bioactive enclosures are amazing for Leopard Geckos and I think these types of gecko setups really bring out natural behavior in your gecko friend. The diet is also simple and feeding all sorts of insects like Crickets and meal worms and Dubia roaches and black soldier fly larvae is super fun to watch your gecko hunt. These amazing little lizards are so fun and really there is no wonder Leopard Geckos make such amazing pets for beginner and advanced reptile keepers. • @TessesKingdom
They are my dream pet my cousin had one when I was around 6 or 7 years old, he allowed me to hold him and I instantly fell in love!!! I asked my mom and she said no, I’m 24 now I have autism so I still live with my mom and she still says no. I hope one day I’ll be able to own one of these sweet Geckos. Thank you so much for making this video

Someone asked me to watch their adult male leo back in January for 2 months. I said of course....haven't heard from the owner in 10 months, so I guess I have a leo now.. who turns out to be a female.😂 I love her so much!

This is brilliant!! Haven't seen a deep dive into a specific reptile in a while, absolutely loved the whole video, the setup and the sweet way you talk to Littlefoot 😊

The only “downside” of your content is your ability to make me want to add to my reptile collection. And yes…. That’s not really a downside 😂 Appreciate the content as always 😊

My 8 year old niece just got her leopard gecko. She has done her research, a couple years worth, but I’ll have her watch this to refresh. She’s very passionate about reptiles.

Your care guides are so good, I really appreciate how you prioritize the animals' needs so that they thrive and have the best lives possible. Just got a leopard gecko (my first lizard), this helps a lot! Thanks!

I love your bioactive setup. I will be using it for reference when I move my baby into their bigger enclosure.

My leopard gecko, Miss Hali, was given to me as a gift almost three years ago. She has changed my whole world, and I can't imagine life without her. Your videos have helped me learn how to give her the best life I can. Thank you for sharing all of your knowledge! ❤️
  • I've been waiting for this care guide since June. I don't own my own but I've been pet sitting my friend's leo and I wanted to be the best host possible and care for these animals to the best of my ability.
  • Im so glad you made this my mom doesn’t listen to anything she got a gecko and just put it in a 2 gallon fish tank where she can barely move or eat she looks miserable but I showed her this and we’re going to get a 35-40 gallon tank with the needed materials thank you<3

i raised my leopard gecko in a 20gal when he was a baby and moved him to a 4'x2'x18" (90gal) as an adult. he absolutely uses all the space, he scurries around, and i installed a second level of platform for him to climb. he loves climbing and has never fallen over, and he has six different hides to choose from. imo the 4x2x18 is the best tank for an adult, and now i put him back in his 20gal whenever i clean his regular tank, and he absolutely gets angry whenever i move him into his small tank. he tries to climb out of it and is generally unhappy in that small of an enclosure. i've been looking into setting up a bioactive enclosure for both him and my ball python since viewing your channel, thanks for all the tips :)

I've seen a few of your videos here and there and finally subscribed. The thing that finally gave me the push was how open you are to encouraging people to do more research! Love that! It's really important for people to see different opinions and situations for reptiles to know how one will mesh with their life and even when your information is amazing you still encourage people to look for more on their own. I really admire and respect that!
  • Your editing and production has drastically improved over 2 years Adam! I've been watching since late 2019, not an OG but definitely have been an avid follower since about 15k subs. You're entertaining, knowledgeable, and provide a fun source of information on herps!! You are definitely deserving of reaching 150k and well beyond!!
  • @davidshaw6159
Love the updated guide! I watched your old one as part of my research a couple of months ago, and the quality of this one is just on another level. And you've hardly aged a day 😁
  • @Kippycube
I love how your bioactive enclosure looks and I'm interested in creating one for my gecko one day, hopefully as pretty as yours. I also appreciate that you're not judgemental and acknowledge the different ways we can keep these animals and still have them thriving. It's hard to decide what substrate etc to use when there are so many opinions out there.
