Get to know the story of Rasputin, known as the “Mad Monk,” who was assassinated for his involvement with the Russian monarchy.

--

On a night in 1916, Russian aristocrats set a plot of assassination into motion. If all went as planned, a man would be dead by morning, though others had already tried and failed. The monarchy was on the brink of collapse, and they believed this man was the single cause of it all. Who was he, and why was he to blame for the fate of an empire? Eden Girma explores the life of the notorious Rasputin.

1:33 The cute sun stops smiling 😂 These guys have lot of fun while making the videos
  • The best part about the story is that the autopsy performed on the body showed that he had DROWNED. He didn't even die from the gunshot
  • @beatrice25511
I read once that when they found Rasputin’s body in the river they discovered that it had water in his lungs, which means that he was still alive and tried to catch some air despite being shot in the forehead.
  • Rasputin's prophecy about his death was actually quite accurate. He wrote a letter to the tsar in 1916 which said that if he was killed by peasants, the royal family would be fine, but if he was killed by the nobles, the royal family would not last more than 2 years. He was assassinated by a distant member of the royal family near the end of 1916 and in 1918, the entire family of the Tsar (the tsar, his wife, and children) were executed
  • Don't say it, don't say it, don't say it "There lived a certain man in Russia long ago, "
  • @LikeMike420
Rasputin never died they just took the "Ras" out of his name
  • @AlmostAnimixers
I think Rasputin's probably one of my favourite historical figures. He's just such an interesting guy. This video barely touches upon half of the weird stuff surrounding him. There's so many strange stories surrounding this guy, it's hard to seperate the fact from fiction.

Almost everyone in the comments is talking about the song. I have no complaints. I love this.
  • @FarCritical
Is he the guy who could preach the Bible like a preacher full of ecstasy and fire, but also was the kind of teacher women would desire?
  • @uppercase-sucks
