Vehicle Voltron had his moments, but, Lion Voltron will always be the one TRUE Voltron for ME!

Felt like I was the only one, when I was a youth, defending the vehicles over the lions in my neighborhood.

You know I still can't get over that Peter Cullen not only did the narrations of the opening theme songs of both the Lion and Vehicle Voltron series but he also voiced Commander Hawkins for the Vehicle series too.

A lot of folks don’t know but for some reason vehicle voltron aired first in some areas and lion aired first in others. That’s why we have this dividing line of who likes what. Lol. Which ever one you saw first is the one you probably loved.

I liked both voltrons as a kid of the 1980's.

I love both versions of Voltron. Great memories of them.

I still chuckle when I hear "The Good Planets of the Solar System." Good Planets of the Galaxy maybe.... but I guess even script writers have howlers from time to time.

Love both Voltron series. Have them on dvd. Love those famous words-"Form Blazing Sword"! Its game over for the robeast. Also got the Voltron movie, when both Voltrons take on King Zarkon and the Drule Empire.

The moment Voltron took the helicopter blades of his shoulders.. That has been a unforgettable moment of my childhood ..

TL;DR As a small kid in early 90s, I thought this was og Voltron; In early 90s, right after comunism in Poland ended I was a lil kid (I was born in 86), but I still remember, that video rentals were "spawning" everywhere. We used to rent a lot of movies and my older bro picked ups some cartoons. Among them, probably my first anime (excluding abysmal italian dub of Yattaman that was on tv back then): General Daimos and random episodes of Vehicle Voltron. I don't remember Daimos at all, but I still remember air, ground and water teams, their commanders, venusian frigates and "I'll form THE head". Few years later, when Sailor Moon and Dragonball brought anime to polish mainstream (kickstarting, what many think was golden age of anime in polish tv) Voltron finally made into one of the channels. I was suprised that it was called the same, but there were lions, not a swarm of vehicles to create Voltron. I learned, that there was never anime called Voltron. It was two shows, patchworked by muricans into one show, with lion voltron being first and vehicle being second. I still think that second one was better. Some time ago, I've watched 2 first seasons of rebooted Voltron on polish netflix. Was even kind of into it, but had to wait entire year for new seasons. When they finally hit, I kind of lost interest already and moved to another show. Maybe it's for the best, as I've heard it went downwards in latter seasons with tumblr infecting it.

It was mid to late 80s my parents actually bought us some Voltron figures. My brother got the Lion and i got the one with the wierd circle around his head..i was pissed.

The problem that most people had was the lion team disappeared without any explanation and the vehicle team appeared both versions are great but it was excellent when they bought them together instead of keeping them separate.
