Wanna point out that in Serval's Companion Quest, she does float the idea of joining the Astral Express and is close to doing so if it wasn't for a bit of convincing from Gepard, so ultimately she doesn't go through with it. Do personally like the idea that eventually we could get more people switching their current path to join the Astral Express.

The reason why so few recieve the gaze or blessing because nobody truly understand the ideal or what the Path represent. An subtle theme that I had noticed about the rooster that lot of them seem to follow the path out of tradition, mob mentality or is part of their society not real belief behind them. Qingque, Sushang and Tingyun seems to follow the Path of Hunt because either out of duty towards their nation or was thaught at young age. While Yukong, despite the loss of her flying partner and losing her faith in Lan, still loyal to the Luofu. Gepard is another case of just following the Preservation because that's his job as Silvermane guard or his duty as Landau. The whole IPC motto is for Qiplot, and yet their actions are going against it's ideals. Meaning that the whole following the Preservation is more a propaganda or marketing tool than actual belief. The Anihlitation gang just "follow" the Destruction because of Ifrit's teachings, but not understanding it.

You can argue that fu xuan follows more with nous then lan and also jing yuan isnt stated to be an emanator he is just blessed by lan, like how fu xuan is blessed by nous.

the character paths ingame is just a label/class types ( ex. mage, warrior, archer) preservation = shielder, dmg mitigation harmony= buffers nihility= debuffers erudition= crowd dps hunt= single target dps destruction= blast dps(sacrifices something to dmg ex. consuming health/skillpoints) abundance= healers people then mix it up with the factions/paths in lore which is why causes confusion

Ratio (my beloved) also has a voice line related to Nous when he reaches the max level. "If this day I have not gained the recognition of Nous, it stands to reason that I never will in the future." Though his path in the game is The Hunt, the Aeon he truly craves validation from is Nous. If you haven't read Dr. Ratio's story details in the "information" section of his character, I highly recommend you do so. It's actually quite sad, in my opinion. This is one of the several reasons I believe he's not an actual narcissist like many people say he is.

Some of the in game paths are so off character that it's kinda funny. Sparkle being a harmony character for example

The paths of the aeons all have an objective: the Hunt wants to kill the Abundance, the Erudition wants to know everything about the universe to understand its meaning, the Remembrance wants to archive everything, the Destruction wants to destroy the everything and even himself afterwards... But I wonder what happens to those paths where there's a finite objective and they obtain it, the simplest example is the Hunt, what happens when Lan the Hunt will finally kill Yaoshi the Abundance? After that there's nothing, what will happen to the aeon the path? It's just something that came in my mind now

Fu Xuan is bonafide follower of erudition, she is literally an operator of jade abacus aka supercomputer and in the story she explicitly said so.

One interesting thing about Elio is that in the simulated universe at the beginning of the game, you get tidbits of a conversation with Fuli that they supposedly had with Elio. Obviously its the simulated universe and it could've been purely a random illusion similar to how it describes kafka and nanook in the same scene but its food for thought.
