“Those that fail to learn from history are doomed to repeat it.” -Winston Churchill Now, more than ever, these words should resonate with all of us.

Rachel Maddow is so good at drawing up these historical parallels that makes history so relevant for today. I should check out her podcast. Seems worth a listen.

EVERYTHING Rachel does is to educate the rest of us. Thanks for that.
  • I'm amazed and impressed how Rachel not only reports the current events of our time but educates us vis a vis with the past. Lesson: Heed understand the past to resolve our present... HEED! We are at the crossroads to uphold our democracy.

It cannot be over stated how important this woman's work is. She is so incredibly well educated, intelligent and informed, and through that informs her viewers. Thanks to both of you for this.

Both Lawrence and Rachel are the rolled gold standard by which all good reporting and commentary should be judged. The professional capacities of each are impeccable and the comradery between the two is testament to their mutual respect and achievements.

I actually know of Sen. Lester C. Hunt due to an article I once researched and wrote for readers over here in Britain, during the reign of Margaret Thatcher. It was a cautionary tale all about McCarthyism in America during the 1940's and 1950's. Nowhere near as well written and compelling as I've no doubt Rachel Maddow's new episodes of 'Ultra' shall be however, I'm certain Lawrence. I simply can't wait to listen to them, and I'll share this video as widely as I possibly can. Many thanks to you and Rachel 👍😎🇬🇧💙☕
  • Sadly, we are once again allowing the Senate and House agitators, who provide arms and legs to Sedition, to walk away, untouched. Given those circumstances, it is not a strange thing that history is repeating itself.
  • I couldnt wait so I googled Senator Hunt. What happened to him and his son was UNFORGIVABLE! Why do people hunt down and destroy other humans because they are different. I've been a Christian my whole long life and embracing others who think differently from me does NOT lessen the respect and dignity I give to others. Why is that so difficult for Republicans? WHY?
  • Thank you Lawrence & Rachel for always bringing us the best we need to know.

Maddow is one of if not the premier journalist of our time. The history brought to life in her work let us know too much has been forgotten. Fascists in our past nearly killed our democracy just as confederate traitors fought against freedom. Right now we have sitting Reps in Congress who refused to certify a free and fair election and stood and still stand with domestic terrorists and insurgents. Not enough journalists have her courage to call them out by name. Let this be a time when those who love freedom and support the law and Constitution never let a day go past without challenging Representatives and Senator's to avoid their responsibilities for their actions. Maddow's books and podcasts tell us where we've been. With her work and help let Nicolle, Melber, Hayes, Reid and O'Donnell keep the facts of the last eight years in the best journalistic traditions keep factual recent history front and centre. MTG, Boebert, Gaetz and trump make their antics so clownish we see them through humour and cynical views at our own dire risk. The law is being dismantled while Congress breaks down into chaos. Journalists with serious intent must hold public figures to account. Please keep documenting those who refused to certify the election by name while they refused to honour subpoenas and the oaths of office they took. Name them and tell us what excuses they made. The charges trump faces and those who conspired with him might not get to trial but please help us be educated enough to know exacly how and why they should stand in courts to answer to the people. If the justices of the Supreme Court fail us at least we will be educated on how they took the law away from the American people.
