I spent like 2 years watching nothing but old movies on TCM. Some of the best times of my life

The first time I saw this musical number I was in history class. The teacher put the video for us and the whole class found it cringey and made bad jokes. The professor felt quite sad about it, but it honestly sparked something in me. Now I'm studying performing arts and it's probably mostly thanks to this.

And Joel is still working! He's directing a Yiddish language revival of Fiddler on the Roof.

My parents had the soundtrack on tape so I listened to it as a kid many times before I actually saw the movie. This song was my favorite on the tape and I’d listen to it over and over
