  • My first job in 1977 was working at a shirt factory. I sewed 50 dozen cuffs per day. I was paid by the dozen, usually earning $5.35 per hour. This was good money for the time. I still have a love of sewing 40 years later. Much respect for the sewing profession.
  • Wow the memories this brings back. I worked for three different factories and while it was hard work it felt good to get so much accomplished! Racing time to get a good rate. There were times they would let us stay late if we had a good day and do a little personal sewing. Sometimes they would have bins of fabric scraps and we could dig through them. I made so many doll clothes for my daughters dolls. And I did so much sewing for my daughter’s school clothes. But what was really cool is when you would actually see something that you had made a part of and somebody was wearing it. It always felt cool, because you were a part of that.

I have full respect how quick and exact the people sew, it is hard work, it looks easy but it isn't.

When my mother first moved to NY back in the early 50's she worked at a ballet clothing factory. She said she was lucky because she had a great boss who treated the workers kindly. She used to tell me how the process was and seeing this video made me feel like I was talking with her again.
  • These people are so talented. The skill it takes to do this is incredible! People don't realize how much work goes into the clothes we wear.

Amazing to see this process - it’s something totally inaccessible to most Americans today. Thank you for sharing the great work the people in these factories are doing. It’s amazing to see such methodical processes in motion for mass production. Please keep making these videos!
  • I am always fascinated with how fast and efficient these people work. There have been a lot of people who have worked on a single rain coat. I love watching these videos. Please make more!
  • Как нереально здорово работают швейный машинки, просто песня для ушей ☺️ какая слаженная работа👍👍👍👍
  • @kvilav
  • Cute pink fabric. I am always amazed at how smoothly the machines run-no broken threads or thread nests!

The development of the textile and sewing industries is the foundation of modern civilization. Pay high tribute to the hard-working people.

Incredible workmanship. I also love the sound of the industrial sewing machines. Those machines are very well made.

Did anyone notice all the workers bundled up? I guess they don’t heat the factories over there, needless expense. You do what you have to do to survive.
  • I worked at a Jean factory in 1989. It was piece work there was a flat rate but if you processed more bundles of 30 then you got a bonus. It is amazing how much work go into creating on a mass scale jeans.
  • All I can say is WOW! Bless all the ladies, and men in industrial production! ❤️
