  • Wow, Odysseus really changed the genre from a heroes journey to survival horror where he's the monst- ooooh

"You don't think I know my own palace? I built it ." The fuking rawness of that quote I just, CHILLS LITERAL CHILLS
  • @hannahwren6289
The way the choir repeats "Odysseus" in the background the same way it repeated "Polyphemus" or "Poseidon" earlier in the musical really drives home that whole "Odysseus has become the monster" vibe

Telemachus was less than one year old when Odysseus left for Troy, which means that murdering the suitors together is their first father-son bonding experience "The first memory I have of spending time with my father is us playing baseball, what about you?" "Oh, our first time bonding was when we murdered 108 guys who flirted with my mom for like 20 years"

I THINK I know what the "no" is in response to. In the original story, once Antinous is dead and the suitors realize they're all about to be slaughtered, one of them tells Odysseus that Antinous was the ring leader of the whole thing and "he's already dead, so you can let the rest of us go because we were just following him!" And Odysseus basically responds "Nah, you're all f*cked. Shut up and die." If I were to hazard a guess, I think it's that moment. If I'm right, that's gonna absolutely kick ass.

From what I remember from the Odyssey, Telemachus also joins in the killing of the suitors, but it would also be a even bigger surprise and a real head-turner if somehow Penelope joins in. Let the poor woman kill, as a treat.
  • I like how the choir of "Odysseus" almost sounds like "Polyphemus". When does a man become a monster?
  • There are so many fun bits in these clips I have to make a list 1. Odysseus’ name being chanted like the other “bosses”, because now he is the boss 2. King is proof why fighting an intelligent rogue on his home turf is a terrifying suicide mission 3. “This man plans for every fight” implies that most greeks just fight without thinking and that actually being smart is somehow this incredibly rare exception, and that Odysseus going full Metal Gear Solid on them is unheard of 4. The sheer audacity of the suitors to claim they “know these halls” which just further proves just how dead they all are 5. Right at the end we hear Odysseus’ name chanted to the melody of the “Danger is Near” motif because the danger is Odysseus.
  • @Zephirite.
If this is Odysseus, Athena’s gonna be terrifying.
  • My exact thought upon hearing “We know these halls” was “And you think he doesn’t? He lives there, dumbass”, and then Odysseus pops in and says that, and it felt awesome. Seriously, that was so chilling. I love it!
  • I love his delivery at 1:24. He doesn’t seem enraged or defiant, he seems kind of…amused, which honestly makes him seem scarier. It’s like these 108 grown men are like nothing to him.

"You don't think I know my own palace? I built it!" CHILLS DOWN MY SPINE🤩

This is so good. When he mentioned someone else also kicking suitor ass, I hope it's not only Telemachus, but also Penelope. It'd be neat if she also work out some of her frustrations after all these years of suitor BS
  • Considering what those suitors wanted to do to his wife and son, I have no pity for them. Also, great job with the edits! I can’t wait til he releases this song
  • @Cbell14-
I love that in every group of suitors there’s a hopeful one with a bit of an accent that gets shut down and immediately killed😂
  • Seamlessly posting these clips for fans to dig through and organize is such a clever way to boost engagement and hype in the community, just chef kiss!
