This isn't a fight to the death. This is a son testing his dad. Every son has done it at least once in their life. And in the end, the dad respects his son for finally growing a pair.

Yuichiro manifesting as ghost just to say his son yujiro is a punk is one of the funniest things in the anime.

Yujiro stands at the top of the mountain uncontested. For a man like him there can be no greater torture than dominion over a world of weak opponents. Strength means nothing if you aren’t given the opportunity to actually put it to use. For Baki to push and test Yujiro and make meaningful presses on him in combat is the greatest gift Yujiro could ever receive and to receive it from his son no less. Those rib crushing bear hugs, using Baki like human nunchucks, he was playing with his son and showing affection in his own way. In the world of Baki the Grappler, this twisted carnival of blood, piss, tears and catastrophic pain was the most profound expression of familial love that could be mustered by these two characters.

The reason why yujiro gave baki the title as strongest is because the essence of strength is to enforce ones will, all baki really wanted was his pops to cook a meal for him, baki enforced his will on the strongest man on the planet by making him tofu at the end, the fight itself was jus to kids who finally found the toy they can play with how they like Edit: thanks for the likes anime gang💪🏾🤝🏾💯

I like how Yujiro is excited as hell his son got hands 💀

In all of the anime I've ever watched in my lifetime, I've never seen someone get used like nunchucks before. This was truly an amazing anime.

Don’t worry, it’s not child abuse, it’s just a father and son love in the Baki verse

- "that was a magnificent display of power, I am proud of you, son" - "thanks dad, remember when you killed mom?" - "ah yes, good times"

Yujiro patting Baki and telling him he is proud of him did more damage than anything he done to his body. Guy literally uses not only brute force in fight, but also manipulative emotions too.

I must say, this was the best father-son bonding scene in all anime that I have ever witnessed. Underlying wholesome moments hidden beneath all that violence.

All Yujiro ever wanted was for Baki to be strong enough to challenge him. Yujiro always loved Baki, but Baki needed to earn his respect. Great show.

I love how Yujiro instinctly went on and gave a hand to Baki when he asked for it.

There are many kinds of fights. Some fights are to win, some fights to teach, some for acceptance, and some simply to survive. For Yujiro, this was a fight to teach. For Baki, it was a mixture of a fight for acceptance and a fight to win. Neither of them were looking to mortally injure the other. In the end, they both won. Yujiro was able to teach Baki the lessons he wanted, and Baki finally earned the respect and affection of his father.

The fact that they didn't consider any of this a fight but just a spat between father and son speaks volumes to the dimensions of power they are in comparison to regular people

I feel like yujiro always wanted a strong opponent from his kid but he also wanted Baki to get his revenge for killin his mother it’s what’s really put him on the path to try n surpass him because if you watched older Baki he was a lot more berserk n had way less restraint now you can tell he really considers his actions even as strongest also it’s great to see Baki ascend to a level this high in his verse he’s literally a top 3 character in the Baki verse

I've read the entire Baki manga dozens of times, probably one of my favourite reads. In the end, Baki made Yujiro believe the dinner was real (when he flipped the table), and Yujiro lost. However, Baki tells us that his father taught him that the true winner is always the one standing in the end, which was Yujiro. Therefore, he won. Ultimately, they called it a draw as they were both satisfied with one another. Absolute great adaptation by Netflix
