I am a naturales one I am trying to learn bits of practice from different places my family is from Mexico my grandma was a curandera she taught me some things like how to do limpias and read the eggs and my mother taught me about some curing methods her mother taught her my mother doesn't like calling herself a curandera but she basically that me I am a brujx because I am agender. My mother said that she heard me cry in her womb and she went to a curandero who told her that I was to see things and also have gifts that came natural to me but now I want to learn how to use my gifts in a more structured approach my patrona is Santa muerte I tried working with Hekate when I was into the euro centric witch craft but then I saw that there was a Mexican saint that was similar and i sought her out and the match worked fine. I tried being regular Christian but that never worked the way I hoped for I always had dreams and saw things and knew things that I knew the Bible would disagree with and I also disagreed a lot with the old testament like owning slaves and also new testament Paul saying women should shave their heads if they talk about God without a veil and so I found Santa Muerte again and she has helped me a lot ever since she kept me alive twice already I told her that when if she thinks it is my time and tells me so I will just go with her like an old friend and accept it but if she thinks I can stay and observe this life some more to let me stick around

Is it accurate, or not, that traditionally no one would self-identify as a bruja/o/e? Is it generally accepted to refer to practitioners as such nowadays, or does that risk unintentional insult to some (especially, I would assume, older practitioners)?
