Few side notes for those who are interested: - Even if you just have a few grabbers, don't wait until you have 'enough' to start automating, you can still automate some parts of your kitchen while waiting for the appliances you need! - When a bun or plate is combined with a cooked item on a hob, it stops the item from cooking further or burning. This is very useful for hotdogs and burgers. - For soups and other dishes that cook in pots, they do not burn on hobs. Therefore I suggest using a danger hob to cook them as it's much faster. - Overall, the danger hob should be avoided when there is no 'overflow protection', as a backup in the system will cause an item to burn, thus burning down your whole operation. - A common way players prevent the mixer from mixing too much in case of a backup, is by using a smart grabber leading into a compactor bin to dispose of the overmixed item. A compactor bin automatically empties itself, holding one item, and taking 10 seconds to empty itself. - Frozen Prep Stations are extremely useful for storing cooked items that are ready to be served, as the 4 (identical) food items contained stay in the prep station stay overnight. - When serving to a table using an adjacent smart grabber, if you have taken the order it will not change the configuration of the smart grabber to the food, and will stay what it was set to before (such as a dirty dish). - Customers will prioritize taking a dish rather than a grabber, so feel free to use regular grabbers for automating taking plates from the table!

Something I learned: (flexible) grabbers are intelligent enough to only take dirty plates off a table, so no worries about needing smart grabbers to do it.

How the heck do i upgrade the conveyor to a smart graber?
  • Copy desk first really isn't great. Blueprint desk first so that you can get more research desks, which you then upgrade to copy desks and discount desks (which is the only way teleporters or large-scale automation are financially feasible)
