LUN BAWANG TAPI' | Sarawak's Lost Instrument

I sat down with one of my favourite musicians, Mr. Rining Peter Paris. He told me all about his instrument, the Tapi'. This instrument almost disappeared from the earth until he decided to revive it. It's a Borneo Lute, similar to the famous Sape - however, very different.

The Tapi' is traditionally from the Lun Bawang group living in the Sarawak Highlands at Ba'Kelalan and neighbouring regions.

Rining Peter Paris and his Bat'a Uduh band play live twice a month at Jak Ma'an. Come see them there!
