Today we're taking a deep dive into the history of LEGO Star Wars battle packs, as well as other comparable small sets. We'll be discussing what sets paved the way for battle packs, as well as the different fluctuations in price we've seen over the last decade-plus. Join me as we take a nostalgic look at this very popular type of set.

2005-2012 were the best years of LEGO Star Wars in my opinion. The Clone Wars clone walker is by far one of the best and most iconic battle packs.

It’s crazy how popular the 501st set was. I have never really followed Lego products in general throughout my life, yet despite that I couldn’t escape the hype that this single set generated.

Dude this was a great vid. I love that you hit inflation. People sometimes forget prices across the board are increasing. Also I have to say I love the original battle packs. Keep up the great videos dude!

last battle packs I collected before getting back into lego recently was the utapau troopers pack around like 2016. Glad to see I haven't really missed much lol

Hands down one of my favourite battlepacks and I will fight people to the grave over it. The Senate Guard battlepack with the minigun type stationary defence.

23:46 The great thing about getting multiples of the newer Mando battle packs was how customizable they were You could buy multiple sets yet build each figure differently It's why I bought 10 I have a miss match of capes legs and torsos but all differently colored mandos to give them some uniqueness over the death watch battle pack
  • I was immediately hooked in the first minute from the narration alone. Keep it up Brian!

I feel like we need a Tier List of Battle Backs to follow up this awesome documentary nicely.

The one thing I hated about the battle packs from 2014-2019 was them using stud shooters. It was cool in 2014 because they were new and to 7 year old me they were the coolest thing ever. But they started to put them in every set and I grew to absolutely hate them. I’m glad that they’ve started to turn away from that but studshooters on vehicles are still annoying

“which is fine if you’re concerned about the droid attack on the wookies” had me dying 😂😂😂

This was excellent. I really enjoy the long-form style of content. This was a great video, well researched and executed. Keep it up!
  • That was an awesome video mate ! loved it ! the price inflation study is pretty intersting for some people who think it's always LEGO's fault !

Such an awesome documentary. Your hard work paid off a lot and Lego should hire you for marketing (no doubt). Incredible job on bringing back some old Lego sets through a video like this. Awesome!!
  • Really enjoyed this documentary! I like that you talked about the inflation. Although the prices for the upcoming minifig and battle packs aren’t nice, I have to agree that way to many people are always thinking that it’s only Lego‘s fault when they bump up the prices.

Honestly did not expect to watch the whole thing, but I did. Really brilliant

I had both of those jedi defence sets! I can still remeber my dad taking me to Toy 'R' Us (a VERY rare treat!) And building them with him in my grandparents lounge on boxing day. Fond memories. Very, fond memories.

Man those old sets from 99-02 really bring me back. I legitimately remember when my oarents bought me those sets with Qui-Gon + Jar Jar, Ben and Luke, Luke on Endor with 2 scout troopers, then in 02 the Vader + Emporer, and Luke + imperial troopers... i always wanted Maul and Obi-Wan and those droidikas but unfortunately never did for whatever reason. I also remember buying Anakin with the tuskan raiders, dooku vs yoda, and the ewok attack.... man this video is bringing back core memories lol

As soon as the Utapau trooper pack was mentioned my heart jumped. One will always remember thire first Lego Star wars set.
