So while I understand, that Munchlax in DPPT is super tedious to aquire, I believe Beldum is equally as bad imo. Beldum's swarms are much more tedious to find since its a random route once a day to get a swarm for plus you'd need the swarm to be Route 228. If anything, Sinnoh could have been a tie entry for both Munch and Beldum. Both are equally really annoying lol.

The fact Tree Munchlax wasn't on this list is shocking.
  • @roninwarriorsfan
Mystic. You forgot D/P/PT munchlax. It has a feebas factor for honey trees. 4/21 honey trees have a 1% chance to spawn one, and these trees spawn a pokemon every 6 hours in real time
  • @Wailerman
Spiritomb, whose method of encountering depends on how many friends you have, did not appear for Sinnoh
  • @primortje-
In gen 1 you can actually catch Chansey in the Cerulean Cave as well really easy. So I would say for gen 1 the hardest pokemon to catch would be Tauros with that insane high run rate after every turn.
  • @Delaretro_
I caught a Chansey holding a lucky egg in Fire Red quiet recently ! It was like finding a shiny almost lol

I remember doing a Water-Type Only run of Emerald some years ago, and fishing for a Feebas took literally two hours as i went through every single water tile on that route until i found one and just chucked a Premier Ball out of sheer delight and the "useless ball" actually worked.
  • Relicanth was never a problem to find to me. Now Chimeco. That was a hell of a hunt. I got 3 shinys on his area before find a chimeco.

7:14 in Sword&Shield Crown Tundra you can find Beldum Metang and Metagross in the grass JUST USES SLEEP POWDER ON THEM 😭 THEY’RE SUCH A PAI
  • @MHFelem
I was one of these people who knew about the 6 tiles Feebas from the internet and went to look for it; checking every individual tile I managed to find the tile eventually 😅

I know Ralts isnt hard to catch when you encounter it in gen 3 and the remakes but it has 1% encounter rate and can only be found on route 102. Easy to catch when found but damn did it give me trouble actually finding it
  • I remember finally catching Chansey in Leafgreen and being utterly shocked to find that it was holding a Lucky Egg. The first and only time I ever caught one, and it was holding an extremely rare item. Those are freaking shiny odds.

Every play through of Silver, I ran Skarmory every time, possibly my favorite non legendary bird like Pokémon. And I don’t remember ever having issues catching him
  • @groudonvert7286
In Pokémon Yellow, you can catch Chansey in Mewtwo's cave, so in Yellow it's not Chansey the hardest Pokémon to get.

Mystic Out here feeding us good quality content on the daily fr 🔥
  • Are we all forgetting about the Feebas pond in DPPt? You gotta go through cave after cave probably lost as hell dealing with tough high level wild Pokemon. Then there is the room itself: Just 4 tiles where it has a chance to spawn, and they change every day? Ouch. At least in BW and BW2, you had a rare chance to find a whole Milotic on Route 1 if you fish in the rippling water and not deal with Feebas' bullcrap, who also is on Route 1 in the ripples. I hit the jackpot when I found a shiny Milotic down there in Black 1. Oh Jewels... You were worth it.
  • @akilcharles3473
Finding any of these Pokemon with a rare chance of 1% is difficult as it is, but not as much as finding them as a shiny makes it worth even more problematic. The most of anything is a Sinistea that's both authentic & a shiny Pokemon, god bless anyone that has/was able to catch 1 of those in Sword & Shield. Also now looking back at older generation games from gen 1-5, as much as we fans tend to critized Gamefreaks direction in the newer Pokemon games with it's artstyle and gameplay, it makes it much easier to able catch Pokemon and do things that we cannot do in the older games. Such as leveling up our team faster with Rare Cadies/Exp candies, able to switch our Pokemon abilities, earn money faster and so on.

The memory from my gameplays of Pokémon that were hard to find/catch were the Pidgeotto in Viridian Forest, Teddiursa in Dark Cave, Phanpy on Route 46, and Heracross in the headbutt trees. I rmb those being painful.
  • I didn't know about feebas factor until about 3 years ago. Which means I was incredibly lucky when I managed to find one in sapphire. I kept changing spots as I have always done that, but I found it in less than half an hour.
