I'm mauritian and I'm not gonna lie but Rs 1,500 for this shirt is so expensive. They were trying to scam u..the normal price is like rs500

As a Mauritian, shame on people trying to scam tourists. They are an embarrassment for this country. Tip for tourists: tell them the locals told you the correct price before buying. If you see youngsters (they are more comfortable with English) going by, try to get them to help you and give you the price range for the goods you are trying to buy.

Harriet and I found the food so good and the downtown of Port Louis very interesting, like a seaport town. Did you find it expensive ? How much do you think you spent in a day ? Food, Accommodations and Entertainment ? In U.S. dollars and Pounds ? It looks like you can bargain hard with the vendors. It looked very busy in Port Louis when you were there. P.S. I was waiting for this. You had the darl-poori a childhood favourite, that tomato based chilli relish. I’m surprised you didn’t get a chance to try pink icing cake, the shortbread one with a jam centre. Nah-po-lee-ten. The chilli bite aka chilli cake, ‘Gah-to-Pee-Mar’ another childhood classic. Po-po (not police) the papaya fruit tasted best in Mauritius. Good bartering skills! Mauritius sure has changed since I went, many years ago, glad you enjoyed 🇲🇺 ❤
