I have a feeling this could tie in to Protea's prime trailer too. Perhaps this display of power is what convinced Granum to deal with Ballas to create Protea as his bodyguard? I also believe that Corpus guy at the end is chosen as the person to act as a messenger. Maybe he is high ranking enough to report to Granum himself, in the next trailer. Edit: Everyone who thinks I'm staying Parvos created Protea needs to understand that Protea was made by Ballas specifically for Granum. That is what I am referencing.
