I’ve said this before, and I’ll say it again. Old GMOD shit was literally made with the intention to be funny. To make people laugh. 3rd party Skibidi Toilet and Lankybox n shit are actually crafted to prey on the attention spans of children in order to farm money. It’s intention.

Apparently these fuckers took the same film class as me when they were in highschool. My film teacher literally praised them for their work and used one of their videos as an example of what we should be like because they were his "Best students to date". That was a few years ago. They've truly fallen from grace lmao

One time, Lankybox made a video reacting to all the episodes of Murder Drones (another Glitch Productions show). The Murder Drones Fandom blasted the video so hard that Lankybox never touched Murder Drones again.

12:45 To be fair, the reason people complain about current content being “cringe”, despite them watching stuff like Fred and Annoying Orange back then is because while those videos are also cringe, you can somewhat tell that the “cringe” content during the early days of YouTube was clearly done for fun and entertainment. Meanwhile, with something like those Digital Circus and Skibidi Toilet content farms, you can clearly tell that they are doing it purely for monetary gain. They don’t care about trying to make good content, they just care about the money they get from mass-uploading brainrot. In caveman words: Old cringe fun, new cringe money.

I've seen this clip of a Lankybox video where the 2 of them play a psychological horror game on Roblox called Jim's Computer. At the end, the main character ends up shooting themselves and one of the Lankybox dudes said that a DOORS (another Roblox game) entity killed them.

13:09 The difference between the "slop" back then (like Gmod Idiot Box) and the slop now is that the videos back then weren't trying to shill their own merch or have really vibrant colors to catch the eye of any 3 year old scrolling past or use popular characters in order to try and get accepted by the Youtube Algorithm. They were just trying to be funny. And while generally the videos of old may not be as funny as they once were due to people's sense of humor changing over time, the videos now are just awful and will remembered by the kids who watched them as being awful.
