im gonna gonna pretend this plot has a lot more to it than it actually does because i like the plot that can come from this. rebound dudes behavior needs some sort of explanation black haired girl: Jenny ex boyfriend: Adrien other girl: Holly rebound boi: Sven okay so jenny is toxic and possessive over adrien and refuses to let him hang out with people she deems not good. in this case it’s holly who has been a threat to their relationship. the threat is actually her crap behavior. a rift grows between them and adrien can’t handle being around her anymore, finding comfort and protection from holly. jenny tries attacking holly after she confronts her and is stopped by adrien who has grown tired of her mistreating people. jenny realizes that she was the cause of all this and backs down. she stays away from the two and ends up befriending sven. what she doesn’t know is sven has a vendetta against adrien. he uses jenny, someone who is still a weakness for adrien and who is currently vulnerable, to get back at him. sven blatantly shows her new reliance on him to adrien who is in a way jealous because he still cares about jenny from being together for so long. jenny interprets his glares at sven to be toward her which hurts her even more, leading to more reliance on sven. adrien finally can’t take it anymore and confronts them, but jenny thinks he is coming to take revenge and hides from him. she self-deprecates about how awful she was, and she was, and sven uses her lack of attention toward him as a moment to provoke adrien. jenny once again sees this as him showing his hatred towards her and sven and sticks up for sven like he once did for holly. its more “i understand you hate me but sven is innocent” than adrien’s. holly arrives and takes one look at jenny talking to adrien before assuming the worst. she reinforces the idea that adrien hates jenny now and jenny goes back into self deprecating about how she knows. sven uses this to also antagonize adrien, saying that he couldn’t even tell her how he felt and implying that he also a fault. holly continues with bringing up how he left her. jenny pushes sven away because, “no i was the issue dont sugar coat it” and finally breaks down from emotional build up. the scene ends with adrien and jenny being emotionally vulnerable due to being the only ones with some form of care towards the other, while holly and sven send looks of annoyance to them respectively. honestly holly and sven didn’t really seem like good partners either. more focused on hurt the other party than actually caring for the hurt person in their care.
