The golden age of fighting games was kickstarted by the release of Street Fighter II and coincided with the release of the Super Nintendo Entertainment System. Of course, this meant a bunch of companies were scrambling to release fight sticks for the SNES to capitalize on the hype of SFII. In this video, I take a look at 6 arcade sticks for the SNES and give my opinion on them.

  • The Capcom stick was also used for the CPS changer, which explains the high quality components.

9:54 you see where it says CPS FIGHTER SET at the bottom there? that's so you could one click set the controls to CPS Fighter style, and that same option is in all the other SNES SF2 games. Another cool feature of that stick is that you could swap the cable and use the stick in 2 button mode on NES, beats the hell out of the NES advantage. Also I thought the layout was kinda dumb at first too, but then I played through Megaman X with it and realized how easy it was to do every combination of jump/charge/dash which is kind of difficult on a normal pad.

That Astolfo body pillow fight stick kills me šŸ’€ Awesome video man

Man im so glad the algorithm recommended your channel! I really love your style. I love how everything is just very personable laid-back. Kind of gives me that vibe of when you visit a friend's house and you're just hanging out. Im definitely subscribing have a great day!
  • @madspunky
Sega fanboys always say their 6-button pad was better for Street Fighter. Sure, but if you took it seriously, you had the Capcom stick.
  • @crosswire40
This was a very comfy video! I like the clarity of your narration and I learned a lot regarding controllers! Thank you for all the hard work you put into this.
  • @bliglum
So many good memories fighting my older brother in SF2 back in the day! We just had the standard controllers, they were aight.

Capcom Fighter Power Stick is so underrated. Although you have to adjust the SF2 button options, I think they went with the layout so it could work well with regular titles. Also, as a bonus, it came with a NES cord option. It works well for playing the Mega Man series.
  • Bean bag chair, OG Nintendo hardware and cartridges, a CRT, and a Snorlax plush? Do you live in heaven? This also reminds me that I need a fight stick for my PC.
  • @bland9876
Whoa that's a weird looking monkey ball arcade The one I saw had a giant trackball on it which makes way more sense.
  • This was a killer video dude! I Ioved all the info I learned from it.

  • @cheshirecats6974
Idk whythis video was recommended to me because I don't play fighting games, but I love this style of videos and idk why it was delayed but the video turned out amazing! New sub
  • @Controllerhead
Y B A ; L X R makes sense for most games honestly, it most accurately represents the controller IMO, and to be fair SF2:HF does have completely custom controls. Anyway, great video, and super awesome that you made your own fight stick. Yes i'd love a build vod šŸ˜
  • @NEWBOYY
Really enjoyed the video. Super well made! To be honest, your delivery, pacing, and filming/editing made something I was already fairly interested in even more enjoyable. If you ever do anything involving arcade sticks with other consoles Iā€™ll be ready :)
