Three Olympic and Paralympic events are set to be held in the Seine, including the triathlon, marathon swimming and Para-triathlon - though concerns were raised previously about the safety of the water.
Swimming in the Seine has been banned for a century because of the filthy water, caused by upstream industrial sewage and sanitation demands.
City swimming is set to be one of the major legacies of this summer's Olympic Games in France, with three open-air swimming areas set to be accessible from the quayside by 2025.

Where is Macron? Didn't he promise to swim in it too?
-
Sounds sketchy. Like the mayor of Flint Michigan drinking tap water. Lets see if she develops any cold symptoms after the swim.
-
It doesn't prove it's safe.... it proves her lack of judgement....

Bit like that 1980s wally who fed his kids beef burgers on TV, hey no mad cow, and now no cancerous toxins, no hormones or pesticides, then quickly rushed for a shower and medical checks

It still looks dirty. The mayor Anne must order an independent WATER ANALYSIS. Swimming in the Seine ONLY probe that she is a brave girl.

Old Vincey swam the length of the nile to show how easy it was

Swimming without face in.... 🏊
-
The Seine river water looks worse than the retention lake behind our house in which street runoff drains.
-
uhuh.. yes that is a normal thing to do. The major swims in the water to let everybody know it's OK.....
-
Soo did the whole poo in the Seine thing not happen? I still think it's rude to expect our Olympians to swim in it. They should get a proper, temperature controlled pool not a freaking river with moving water. How will that affect times? If someone gets a good current and another doesn't, how is that fair?

A politician expertly swims in shitty filth and comes out unscathed…. Hmmmmm
