Drinking the 100 gram glucose drink after fasting for 12 hours made me feel sick, but I ended up completing the 3 hour pregnancy glucose test for gestational diabetes. After finishing the 4 blood draws, I was very nauseous and wanted to go to sleep haha.

I might be pointing out the obvious? I have the same problem with blood draws so, I always request they use a, baby needle. They are small, it doesn't hurt, and they always get blood.
  • I always tell them to use my wrist or top of hand - those veins are poppin'. I start chemo this week 😒You will be a great mom, Samantha! Can't wait to see your little 👶
  • Glad you passed the test. I know how it is too to not have good veins for blood draws. They pick the same poor little vein every 3 weeks to take blood from. Take care and get some rest growing a baby is hard work.

The massive amounts of sugar are to test insulin production. So it's an indirect assay.
  • Great news. I don’t see how the test is very good for your body or the baby’s?! Well done. Home stretch now!!!🎃

I had hand surgery on the opposite side of ny lymph node removal. Had a horrible anesthesiologist who argued with me abour using the node arm. He tried to stick me on the foot ... Tried 2 times and I started gainting from the pain. A nurse convinced the dr that she could do it and did. So if your veins get bad ask about using foot!!

No. If I start a book and it''s not a great book? No problem giving up on it. But if it is a GREAT book, I DO obsess over it, but just look forwardd to binging on it in the tub the next chance I get. I have an entire library filled with waterlogged books I have dropped in the water.
  • I've got small little veins that roll when they stick them. (I have MS so yay lots of blood draws). It sucks so much.
  • Mi sister is 7 months pregnant now and she has being diagnosed with gestational diabetes a few months ago so she has to take her blood sugar 3 times a day and consume no sugar or carbohydrates at all . PD:Your cat is so beautiful 😍

Curious, what does Q’s name stand for and what breed is he? He’s such a pretty kitty.

Were you able to take a nap during the test?
