Ive always loved this song and after i came to a believer i understood more clearly what Genesis tries to say by this. They are not attacking against Jesus but these ugly preachers who only are trying to get rich

I lived in South Africa when this came out. The pastors in their safari suits driving his & hers Mercedes were rife. This song was spot on.

When I went to a catholic primary school, a teacher used this song in class, entirely missing the irony.

I remember listening to this song on the car radio being probably 8 years old with my parents in the front, at night, slowly relaxing on the back seat, looking with one eye at the road ahead, feeling nice and safe , not having to worry about anything. That was such a good time.
