This American fighter, like no other, is associated with fights without rules. It was then that the UFC tournaments were called, from which puncher David Lee Abbott, better known as “Tank” Abbott, began his career in mixed martial arts.     Tank was the first guy to wear the open fingered gloves now required in all MMA fights. He pioneered it in his very first fight in UFC 6. He knew what punching a skull with extreme force could do to your hands.
